I get it. Your concern is you and the here and now. While much of what you say is accurate, your preference insures disaster. I'm not ready to throw the towel in.

Yes, but my point is not when you see the thieves the Day of the Lord is at hand. We have had thieves for thousands of years. The point is when you see a thief like Adonijah trying to steal the throne from Solomon then you know the day of the Lord's coronation is at hand.
Right now we have thieves claiming to be "Messiahs" all circling about. Trump has had some creepy posts on Truth social making claims like that, and the President of Israel claims to be descended from King David and is heading up the Noahide convention in Jerusalem, etc. Telling voters that they'll get $5,000 if they vote for his party, that is the same thing thieves have done for many years.
We are looking at thieves who are all trying to wrap themselves in some kind of Messiah disguise.
My thoughts are the candidate doesn't matter. The system is so big and run by so many behind the scenes if you were to get someone truly excellent, say Charlie Kirk for President, then they'll just assassinate him.

You have not countered anything. But it will probably not happen. The proposal may have to go thru the House or whatever. It is just talk and contingent on Repubs winning which everybody says will not happen. I cannot figure out for the life of me why any sane person would vote for the Dems

I realize there have been people throughout church history who have made the claim, the fact that they did is in itself a fulfillment of prophecy.
We were warned to beware of false prophets. Jesus never equated a false prophet with someone who was being faithful to watch for the signs of His coming. But for some weird reason people ignoring the signs of the Lord's coming which is contrary to what we are commanded to do has become the accepted procedure in Christianity for "being wary of false prophets". It is truly idiotic. The truth shall set you free, not closing your eyes to the truth.
It won't happen. It's bluster. It will probably get votes.
I am somewhat amazed at Christians sometimes. The Bible teaches that the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our God and of His Christ. Why such doom and gloom?
Of course not, tomorrow is not given to us, to make that claim would be equivalent to saying the Lord is returning at this moment.
I espouse an imminent return, that is very different from saying it will be in our lifetimes.
Most of my Christian relatives in the U.S. have voted for democrats for decades.
One of my great uncles was a Republican supporter since the 50's and 60's. His view started to change during the Nixon scandal. After Reagan was elected, he turned away from the Republican party permanently. He was a physician and felt that Reagan's policies were very harmful to less fortunate Americans.
Don't know about back then, but you cannot be a Christian and vote Dem this day in age.
Think the Donald cares one bit about the Constitution? Think again. The 1st Amendment gives the people the right to consume what they want and make their own decisions. Authoritarianism wants the leader and the state to decide what you can consume.
