It seems like if they have been paid for then they are forgiven and if they aren't forgiven than they haven't been paid for
If I call you up and tell you I've prepared a wonderful gift for you; all you have to do is come to me and tell me you want it, then it will be yours. The gift has been made available to all mankind, but for you to benefit from it personally you have to step out in faith and receive it.

"And the Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!' And let him who hears say, 'Come!' And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely." Revelation 22:17

He's indicating that he thinks all future sins are already forgiven.
If true, then sounds like we can all resume our old lives of living in sin and still be saved.
All of our sins past, present and future are either forgiven because we are believers or else all of our sins past, present and future are not forgiven because we are unbelievers. (John 3:18; Acts 13:38-39; Colossians 2:13-14) In regard to living in sin, what shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? (Romans 6:1-2)
None of which addresses the question the OP has presented.

So it's all good to live in sin then?
Sounds like there's no need for 1 John 1:9 after hearing your take.
It's not all good to live in sin as a Christian and no one who is born of God practices sin. (1 John 3:9) In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. If someone claims to be a Christian yet lives in sin (lifestyle or bent of life) then that person is deceived. (1 John 1:6-10)

Again, in 1 John 1:9, notice that - "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9) is in contrast to - If we say that we have no sin, (present tense) we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8) and - If we say that we have not sinned, (past tense) we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:10)

Certain people seem to misunderstand verse 9 to mean that we "must confess each and every sin that we commit as we commit them" (keep a specific inventory of every sin we have ever committed) as an "additional requirement" to "remain cleansed" and "if we forget a sin we are toast!" Who could actually write an exhaustive list of every sin they have ever committed or ever will commit? Sin is not only missing the mark by what we do but also what we fail to do. (James 4:17)

Believers "confess" (Greek - homologeó) speak the same/acknowledge/agree with God's perspective about their sins and have a settled recognition and ongoing acknowledgment that one is a sinner in need of cleansing and forgiveness in contrast with saying that we have no sin or that we have not sinned. (1 John 1:8-10)
You can't claim all future sins are already forgiven and then have a problem if someone thinks they can go ahead and live sin without contradicting yourself. If the fancy preachers want to go around making blanket statements such as all future sins are automatically forgiven then there shall be some who actually believe them and go back to living in sin with the expectation that all future sins actually are automatically forgiven.
You seem to be creating a straw man argument. To live in sin is to practice sin and 1 John 3:9 says that no one who is born of God practices sin. As a Christian, I personally keep short accounts with the Lord in regard to when I stumble and sin because I have a personal relationship with the Lord. (John 17:3) I don't doubt my forgiveness in Christ over not recalling every sin I have ever committed (inventory confession) and making sure that I don't forget to confess each and every one specifically. I do confess to God when I know I have sinned.
The fact f the matter from God's Word is our future sins are not just automatically forgiven. God's Word teaches that if we walk after the flesh we die spiritually and if we do that and don't come back to Him repenting from our sin and ceasing from sin then in the end we would to be saved. The Lord gave us His Spirit to empower us to cease from sin, but nobody seems to acknowledge that too much these days it seems.
You seem to imply that we maintain our salvation through sinless perfection. Romans 8:8 - So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8 contrasts true brethren (led by the Spirit) and false brethren (controlled by the flesh) by highlighting their internal nature, mindset, and lifestyle. True believers live according to the Spirit, resulting in life, while "false brethren" follow sinful desires leading to death. If you live in the flesh realm, that proves you're in the flesh, if you mortify sin by the Spirit, that proves you're in the Spirit."
Matthew 13:41,42 - The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Descriptive of unbelievers, including make believers. (Matthew 7:22-23; Matthew 23:28)
John 15:1-2 - I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit
You are assuming that "in me" (in the vine) must mean saving union with Christ, when scripture instead shows here that outward attachment to Christ that is not inward life. Judas Iscariot was outwardly attached to Christ as the vine, chosen among the twelve, sent out in ministry, yet Jesus said, "Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?!" (John 6:70) He also said, "You are clean, but not all." (John 13:10) Judas was connected outwardly to the vine but never clean inwardly.

John 15 is not teaching that born-again believers lose eternal life. That would make Jesus contradict Himself. He already said, "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out." For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing but raise it up on the last day. 40 For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day. (John 6:37-40) Jesus also said, "I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish" (John 10:28) If they perish, it was not eternal life.

A fruitless branch shows outward connection without inward life. That is why it is taken away. Branches with a vital and spiritual connection with Christ as the vine bear fruit because life is in them. False professors may be attached outwardly for a season, but no fruit exposes no life. Those who profess to know Christ but whose relationship to Him is outwardly attached, Christ neither saved them, nor sustains them. Eventually, the dead outwardly attached fruitless branches are cut off. So, the issue remains simple. The Father removes fruitless professors. Christ does not lose His sheep. John 15 cannot be used to negate John 6 and 10.

In regard to living in sin, what shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? (Romans 6:1-2)

None the less if all future sins are already forgiven then we can live in sin and still be saved and go to Heave, right?
This is what you believe, correct?

in 1 John 1:9, notice that - "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"

Yes, that verse shows that all future sins are not automatically forgiven. If they were, the 1 John 1:9 would not be in the Bible.

Certain people seem to misunderstand verse 9 to mean that we "must confess each and every sin that we commit as we commit them" (keep a specific inventory of every sin we have ever committed)

No, that's a talking point the fake grace people use to try and discourage believers from using 1 John 1:9

If someone has not been living right, all they have to do is say "Lord, I confess all my sins and ask you to forgive me" and that covers it. No itemized reports or spreadsheets needed.

Mark 11:24 states, "What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them"

To live in sin is to practice sin and 1 John 3:9 says that no one who is born of God practices sin.

Yes those living in sin have become corrupt having turned away from the Lord and are no longer born of God.
2 Timothy 2:12 - If we deny Him, He also will deny us

I do confess to God when I know I have sinned.

It should very rare for a Christians to sin and if they did they'd be convicted right then and there by the Holy Spirit which should lead them to repent of their sin immediately. Shouldn't be needing special software to catalog massive incidents of sin as sin should be rare.

You seem to imply that we maintain our salvation through sinless perfection

You seem to have selective acceptance of God's Word
Here's a few passages needed for your correction:

1 John 3:7 - Little children, let no man deceive you: he that DOES righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1 John 3:6 - Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not

1 John 5:18 - We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

1 Corinthians 15:34 - Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1 John 2:1 - My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

Galatians 5:16 - Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 5:24 - they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

2 Peter 1:4 - Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2 Peter 2:14,15 - Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

None the less if all future sins are already forgiven then we can live in sin and still be saved and go to Heave, right? This is what you believe, correct?
To live in sin is to live a lifestyle of deliberate, sinful behavior. That is what it means to "practice" sin. The unrighteous practice sin and not the righteous who are born of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 5:19-21; 1 John 3:7-10)
Yes, that verse shows that all future sins are not automatically forgiven. If they were, the 1 John 1:9 would not be in the Bible.
You need to read 1 John 1:9 in contrast with 1 John 1:8 and 1 John 1:10.
No, that's a talking point the fake grace people use to try and discourage believers from using 1 John 1:9
Fake grace people? It sounds to me like you have a chip on your shoulder. I discourage nobody from using 1 John 1:9 when properly interpreted. Inventory confession/overlook a sin and forget to confess it and you are toast becomes legalism.
If someone has not been living right, all they have to do is say "Lord, I confess all my sins and ask you to forgive me" and that covers it. No itemized reports or spreadsheets needed.
I'm glad to hear you discourage itemized reports, spreadsheets, inventory confession. Amen.

Show me where John said that in 1 John 3:9-10.
2 Timothy 2:12 - If we deny Him, He also will deny us
In regard to 2 Timothy 2:13, we see a contrast with, "if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him -- AND -- If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

"By contrast, the latter "deny Him and faithless" points to the opposite of died with Him, endure and reign with Him. To "deny him" does not point merely to a temporary weakness of faith, as in the case of Peter who denied Jesus three times during a moment of weakness (Luke 22:54-62) but is referring to life in its entirety. The inevitable result is that "He will also deny us."

The warning is repeated in the final sentence, "if we are faithless, he abides faithful." To be "faithless" is in the present tense and denotes this as the habitual attitude, not a temporary lapse of faith. But in contrast to human faithlessness, "He remains faithful," faithful to His word and righteous character and His warning that unbelievers will be rejected.
It should very rare for a Christians to sin and if they did they'd be convicted right then and there by the Holy Spirit which should lead them to repent of their sin immediately. Shouldn't be needing special software to catalog massive incidents of sin as sin should be rare.
Special software to catalog massive incidents of sin would be considered practicing sin, yet that still does not mean that Christians never sin at all. (1 John 1:8)
You seem to have selective acceptance of God's Word
Here's a few passages needed for your correction:
I could say the same for you. I prefer to properly harmonize scripture with scripture before reaching my conclusion on doctrine.
1 John 3:7 - Little children, let no man deceive you: he that DOES righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
Doing righteousness or practicing righteousness is descriptive of those who are righteous.
1 John 3:6 - Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not
Sinless perfection?

Sinneth not (ουχ αμαρτανε). Linear present (linear μενων, keeps on abiding) active indicative of αμαρτανω, "does not keep on sinning." For μενω (abide) see 1 John 2:6; John 15:4-10.

Whosoever sinneth (ο αμαρτανων). Present (linear) active articular participle like μενων above, "the one who keeps on sinning" (lives a life of sin, not mere occasional acts of sin as αμαρτησας, aorist active participle, would mean).

Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
Are you advocating for sinless perfection?

The unrighteous practice sin and not the righteous who are born of God.

And then some who are righteous not practicing sin decide to turn away from the Lord and start practicing sin
Then some say they still go to Heaven which is false doctrine. Scriptures talks about this. I'd post it but you'd deny the plain reading of scripture so no need to go there.

You need to read 1 John 1:9 in contrast with 1 John 1:8 and 1 John 1:10.

And yet, all future sins are not just automatically forgiven.

Fake grace people? It sounds to me like you have a chip on your shoulder.

No, just able to recognize there are tares among us as Jesus taught.
He said we would know them by their fruits. Lots of Christians are not baring good fruit.

Matthew 7:18-20 - A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

I'm glad to hear you discourage itemized reports, spreadsheets, inventory confession.

With the whole AI thing I'd imagine someone will develop an app to enable a person to track each and every sin in real time.

You know, for the sin conscience among us.

Who claims to live in sin/practice sin and says they will still go to Heaven? Such a person would be deceived and is not born of God.

Future sins are forgiven but only for believers. (Acts 13:38-39)
No, just able to recognize there are tares among us as Jesus taught.

Tares are not Christians. A Christian who bears no good fruit at all is an oxymoron. There are genuine Christians and there are "nominal" or pseudo Christians. There are genuine believers and there are make believers.
Matthew 7:18-20 - A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Interesting. I see AI as a complex tool with both significant benefits and serious risks.

A friend of mine is saying well know ministers teach that all future sins have already been forgiven even before they are ever committed.

Is this actually true? If it is then what is stopping christians from doing sinful things knowing they are already foriven ahead of time?
Yes, it is tue. What's stopping Christians from doing sinful things knowing they are already forgiven is the Holy Spirit, tesifying to them when something they're doing is wrong, and that they will inherit a very poor outcome if they continue in disobedience.

Hebrews 10:26
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins

I myself have sinned knowingly against the Lord after receiving the Gift of eternal life. Yet I have learned that my sins have yeilded nothing but death. Not sins so as to deny the truth about what sin is, or that God finds sin detestable.

But at the end of the day, what ultimately matters is, do you see the Lord as a living being, with a law to aspire to and someone you can trust, or do you see Him as a machine?

Also if someone never confesses their sins after being saved does that mean those sins are not forgiven. I heard a preacher say once that we have to confess our sins if we expect to be cleansed from all unrighteousness and he said 1 john 1-9 makes that clear
It is not true.
Forgiveness does await those who will actually turn from sin.
But those walking in darkness/sin are in grave danger, until they decide to obey the One who provides their salvation.

Sounds like you are saying we can live in sin all our lives and then repent while we're standing before the Lord and all will be well
As Christians we know to avoid sin and temptation, but we will always be sinners, Satan was finally cast down for calling out the sins of Christians before the Lord. I was just making a point that all sins were paid for by Christ on the cross, and that he will even forgive those who call on him on his great and dreadful day.
