I love issues of salvation, eschatology, or afterlife talk, the Holy Spirit, and other things I wish there was voice on this thing its a lot to type you do not get on any other sites or have a skype or anything do you?

I have been contemplating the idea of, if you can pray for people in the future, can you not pray for people in the past as well? The idea comes from a Monk that was praying in his monestary in the 12th century I believe. His brothren he was mentoring at the time came up to him and asked him what he was praying for, in which he answered he was praying for someone in the past. to be cont.

He believed that since God was present at all points in time, that if he prayed in the present, he could affect events both past, present, and future since God takes prayers and considers all points in time. WIth this idea, we could pray that God give our ancestors strength in their time of need in the past, as God would apply our prayers.

Coming from the worldview the Bible is the sole authority of belief I must say that the Scriptures do not teach living humans being able to affect the fates of the dead. While it is true that the Creator God is timeless, His creatures most certainly have limitations. According to the Bible it appointed once for man to die and then comes judgment (Heb 9:27). Luke 16 Jesus talks about a man who after this physical life

was over had regrets and wanted those he cared about who were alive to make some changes so they didn't have to go through his pain but never the other way around
