    Concerning the gift of tongues

:) He's a great theologian. Either way, if we go with my perspective on what scripture teaches on tongues, everyone here would be speaking in tongues if they believed it.

    Concerning the gift of tongues

How about when we respond to each other, we do not stoop low to disrespect one another. We are to love each other, even if we disagree. I have seen for the past few days several comments in which its opinion - why don't we approach the discussion with the word and reason concerning the...

    Encounters and Calling

Here is a great topic to discuss. As a Bible believer and Charismatic, one of the distinguishing things I have noticed in Scripture is men who were used by God had encounters with God. This is a two fold discussion: If you have had an encounter with God, please share it and describe what it...

    Loss of salvation???

For further conversation, I will require a respectful conversation and a Biblical argument for why you believe a believer cannot lose their salvation with references included. Thanks!

    Loss of salvation???

That's not what I asked - they leave the fold, they cease to listen, and therefore they come to lose their salvation or should I say, walk away willingly.

    Concerning the gift of tongues

I understand your approach. It is commendable. I have to know the two sides of the fence because of the profession in life I chose, and I have to interact with the opposite view quite often. I find that there are good points made from people who don't completely see my way. Where I draw the line...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

When translating the Greek into English, the KJV got several things wrong. The ESV is a more accurately translated version. Though, I recommend reading in the Greek is way more fun!

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

The English Standard Version is very close to the Greek, and more accurate than the KJV.

    Concerning the gift of tongues

Every belief we have and anything we practice should be rooted by the scriptures. Even if you are against the gifts of the Spirit, tongues etc. then you should have a belief based on what scripture says, not your own personal bias.

    Concerning the gift of tongues

Absolutely, there are legitimate organizations that provide proof of validated miracles of God. However, I would propose that we look to scripture only when forming a belief, the scriptures say that signs, wonders, and miracles follow a believer - therefore, we should expect them. Thirdly, I can...

    Loss of salvation???

Question: Where does it say in that verse that a sheep can stop listening to his voice? Meaning that they cease being a sheep. :)

    Loss of salvation???

Sure, God will always love you as a child. However, there are punishments and issues if you do run away. God is a good God and He won't force someone to be with Him that does not want to be with Him anymore. :) It should be noted that I am not a calvinist.

    Loss of salvation???

If anyone chooses to walk away, their salvation will be lost. Salvation is not guaranteed- therefore, it should be noted that I do not believe in once saved, always saved.

    Loss of salvation???

THe simple answer is that one can choose to walk away from salvation and no longer receive God's promise if they choose.

    Concerning the gift of tongues

So, what is the head off then? Again, there are other places where people speak in tongues and nobody is present to interpret nor does anyone understand It in their own language. Here's another question to follow: If they spoke in tongues and there was no interpretation, how does the person...

    Concerning the gift of tongues

No, unfortunately, the way we often approach scripture is through the lens of someone else and what others have taught us. For instance, I disagree with John MacArthur on the gifts of the Spirit, Calvinism etc. But I still listen to many of his messages and I love him like a brother, even though...

    Concerning the gift of tongues

That's figurative to say that the tongues of Angels isn't really what he was speaking about and that it was an exaggeration. I do not believe that Paul was exaggerating, because he was approaching the gift with honor instead of trashing it. He spoke in tongues more than the entire Corinthian...
