What was the reason for the gifts? When was this written, and to whom? It deals with the early church, building it, edifying it. It has nothing to do with the future with Christ; its all about the earthly kingdom, the church, the body of Christ.

You're now twisting things and asking answerable questions. The simple issue is 'belief', and does that alone suffice to be saved. And James clearly indicates belief is not enough, there's more because devils believe as well. And James is referring to belief in God not the gospel.

Your initial logic isn't sound and now you are qualifying it unscripturally by your words alone. If it only takes belief, then they, the demons, believed. So, its not just belief that saves. And as I stated, im sure they have faith in Christ too, since they know he CAN do what he says. Then...

I'm not disputing that at all, but its imperative that we first do our part which is being obedient; once done, God will do his part, but not 'till we obey. We can't and don't save ourselves, nevertheless, we must do what's required/commanded of us which some erroneously term "works".

Just read the words of scripture, believe and follow them. That's all 'ya got to do. Believe anything else you like, but that won't change what they say.
