Being physically alive doesn't count. People are physically alive while yet being spiritually dead in sin. We can do nothing Spiritual while dead spiritually, even as one can do nothing physically if physically dead.

lbt I believe this is not accurate, I believe Faith is part of the application process when God saves an individual. In other words, Faith accompanies Salvation by Grace. Eph 2:8 Its not an requirement, but a benefit given with Salvation.
