I'm afraid it doesn't. The topic is not asking for the day of the crucifixion. It is directed to anyone who believes that it took place on a Friday - the 6th day of the week with a resurrection on the 1st day of the week - Sunday. I am simply asking how they account for the lack of a 3rd...

Since the Catholic Church maintains that they have the authority to create doctrine - based at least in part on Matthew 16:19 - I wonder why that don't add their current non-scrpitural doctrines to the New Testament?

So far, there have been - I think - around three posters out of the 120 plus posts who have offered possible explanations for how a Friday burial/Sunday resurrection could be reconciled. 1. The "heart of the earth" wasn't just referring to His time in the tomb. 2. The 3 hours of darkness...

Perhaps your comment that "...it is remarkable in the extreme that she is only mentioned in the first three gospels..." may have been more clear as to the intent of your comment if you had added "by name" after "mentioned".

And remember, that "someone new" needs to be someone who believes the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week with a 1st day of the week resurrection, and who thinks that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb or at the earliest to when the Messiah's spirit left His body...
