Lately, I've been looking at join dates on some posts of the OPs. I think, "Wow. They just joined yesterday." Then, as I read their posts, I see the reason they joined. A few are trolls, we know this, but the majority have joined because they are in a place where they need someone to help them...

This is something that has been on my mind lately, wordsmith that I am. Why do we say, "That's no excuse" when someone offers an excuse for their bad attitude/moral failing/mistake/etc. when that is exactly what it is? It's an excuse. How did that saying ever come into being in the first place...
