Jesus' death justifies believers and we are forgiven through his name

Isaiah 53:11 King James Version 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. As is shown here, Jesus' death for our sins justifies us of all our sin before God. In fact, God...

Can We Really Exercise Free Will?

It's a lot to keep in my head when I go to make my post, sorry Magenta. I agree with the overall sentiment if I'm not mistaken though. :) I was totally incapable of believing in Jesus until God did what he did and what happened happened with me. I tried numerous times and always gave up and...

Can We Really Exercise Free Will?

Ah yes, I think our ability to act is severely hindered, but within that we are still free to choose what we like and thus exercise a free-will (from the unsaved perspective, I remember what that was like). It's like our nature was changed or something if we were meant to be purely benevolent...

Can We Really Exercise Free Will?

Oh right, being born of God. I wrote about that in this post.

Can We Really Exercise Free Will?

While I hope Adam and Eve are both in heaven I don't understand how Eve was elected to salvation here.

Can We Really Exercise Free Will?

I think someone is depraved and has freewill. I don't know if someone walking in the spirit would be considered depraved though. I think we might not have the same experience Adam had when he was made and it affects our ability to see things and make decisions, but I think we are still...

Can We Really Exercise Free Will?

Actually I think I am reading that way way wrong, sorry about that.

Can We Really Exercise Free Will?

In Romans 5 it says that death reigned from Adam to Moses. If death is the result of sin it might be that everyone was utterly sinful and lost, to my reckoning at least. I don't fully understand that though. I would think Noah would be saved and Enoch too, maybe others. Maybe I am reading it wrong.

    WORD OF GOD

Colossians 1:15 King James Version 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: I think it's talking about his place with regards to created things. He is the firstborn, it's being used as a figure of speech, it's clearer if you read the verses underneath verse 15.

    WORD OF GOD

I think Jesus was referencing the Father when he said I am. As in God saying "I AM THAT I AM" to Moses. Exodus 3:14 King James Version 14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you. He was using comparative...

Acts 10:43 King James Version 43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. :)

    Romans 10 Question

It's not clear to me what a person needs to believe, but I would think it would be the gospel, sort of hence the thread. Jesus talks about believing in his name in John 3, John Piper wrote in an article if I'm not mistaken where he said that name goes hand in hand with fame, so believing what...

    Romans 10 Question

Well 1 Corinthians 15 says, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 King James Version 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have...

Can We Really Exercise Free Will?

I mean well yes, of course, when I move my arm I'm doing it because I want to though some movements might be autonomous. I'm making a free-will "decision' to move my arm. Everything you do is a free-will decision though it might not require any or much thought, I would think at least. Believing...

    Romans 10 Question

Romans 10 King James Version 10 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own...

Is it true that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one?

And what exactly does this mean if this is true? I am conflicted about this because this is translated differently in two different translations. 1 John 5:19 English Standard Version 19 We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. 1 John 5:19 King James...

God, co-actor in Jesus' sufferings or contributive non-actor?

I actually am repenting of my opinion that God did not cause physical harm to Jesus as I am reading Isaiah 53 in a new light and hopefully correctly. If I am correct it could be seen that Jesus' entire sufferings was God-done. God handed him over and supernaturally inflicted his sufferings...

God, co-actor in Jesus' sufferings or contributive non-actor?

Sure. Did God personally take part in Jesus' sufferings or did he personally play no role at all? Not the same question given the details of my post, but close enough. Sorry for writing a hard to understand question. My position is that God did not personally take part in Jesus' suffering but...

God, co-actor in Jesus' sufferings or contributive non-actor?

Acts 2:22-24 King James Version 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge...
