    License to Sin

Regarding revelation being 'spewed out of the mouth'... The key thing, is this is talking about not an individual, but churches. An entire local church, losing the presence of the Holy Spirit. Not a building..but that group of saved, baptized believers. Aka Laodicia. A group losing the...

    BAPTISM IS A WORK

Repent is a change of mind, heart..at believing on Jesus. It's not a work. Not self reformation.

    BAPTISM IS A WORK

Again, there are many verses without water baptism about receiving salvation, many in the book of John plus other books. So the negative of the verse.. don't get baptized in water and you won't be saved, is not correct. The positive statement..believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, gives...

Is cessation an observation or theology?

Well, yeah God does still heal. That's a given. The question is whether its thru gifts given to men, as it was with the apostles or Him independently working His power. Different things. But this has already been hashed out.

OSAS, When does salvation take place?

Hebrew believers were going back to OT sacrifices. Hebrews 10:26 sacrifice for sins is animal sacrifice. Hebrews 6 is similar with them being admonished to go on to maturity. 'Fall away'..falling away from maturity..not eternal life.

OSAS, When does salvation take place?

Jesus pays for that person's sin. It is forgiven. He will, through the Holy Spirit, discipline a believer when the fail. But like a real dad in a biological family, won't leave the child. If the child disown the dad, that doesn't mean the are actually disowned. Only that the think they are.

Is cessation an observation or theology?

Thanks for the reply, that is well thought out and you make good points. The key thing, isn't that every single believer automatically becomes mature with the complete revelation of God's Word, but that Christianity as a whole had reached a point where the Word is complete, the apostles are...

OSAS, When does salvation take place?

If you could 'walk away' and lose salvation, that is meaning the indwelling of the Holy Spirit belongs to you and not God. Once saved, salvation belongs to Jesus, not to the believer. It isn't merited or earned, so our acts after salvation don't affect the eternal state of salvation given...

Is the Holy Spirit actively working today? Also, Is the Holy Spirit necessary for salvation?

Are you sure they are saying the Holy Spirit was only for apostolic times, or the gifts of tongues, knowledge and prophecy are only for those times? The Holy Spirit does alot more than the gifts of the Spirit. Limiting some of the gifts for those times, isn't denying salvation thru believing...

Initial faith and ongoing faith, is a distinction needed between the two to interpret Scripture accurately?

Yes, it wasn't a sudden change, but a fulfilling. Like a foundation being disestablished and then rebuilt over time, rather than a sudden change.

Initial faith and ongoing faith, is a distinction needed between the two to interpret Scripture accurately?

Have a closer look at the different baptisms. Ask yourself in the context of when baptism is mentioned, is the person or group, of already converted people? Is this an individual being baptized, by immersion, after conversion, or a whole group, already each person indwelled, receiving the...

Initial faith and ongoing faith, is a distinction needed between the two to interpret Scripture accurately?

Regarding OT believers, they were also justified by grace thru faith. Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness..before he offered up his son Isaac. Job believed in a redeemer. And Jesus, referring to the OT.. said search the scriptures, in them think ye have...
