Is cessation an observation or theology?

The context of women not speaking in the church, is of the disorderly conduct happening at the church at Corinth. In particular, about speaking in tongues done out of order/chaotically. The church at Corinth was affected by the paganism of the day. They mixed Christianity with it. So, it...

Repentance and Keeping Commandments is only the beginning of salvation.

Well, for the millionth time.. at least with James 2, the context is about what someone who already has faith, already converted, does with their faith. Faith without works is dead, doesn't mean saving faith without works is dead. Compare James here with Paul in the likes of Romans 5:8, and...

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

Yes, knowing you are a sinner headed for hell and can do nothing to save yourself. Then believe on Jesus Christ..that He is God, that He lived, died and rose again, and asking for forgiveness.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

There is temporal judgment on earth and the eternal judgment of hell. Depending on the context you can know which is which in scripture. If other scripture, Paul's letters tell you works don't convert some one. Then you need to compare that with the scripture you've shown.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

Context of this is of those who Jesus never knew.. not once saved..known and then unsaved.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

Grace is given at salvation by Jesus, Him giving eternal life to the one believing. What then is the reasonable response to having eternal life? If a believer does not build on this foundation, they face consequences such as being kicked out from their church, experiencing ongoing conviction...

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

Yes, so this is where 'turn from sin'..can just mean.. 'know you are a sinner and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ '..and then it is no issue. But like I posted before..if it's a behavioral change BEFORE conversion..that's a lost person..dead in sin..trying to turn from it. Can't be done.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

Main problem with 'Turning from sin ' and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, is that it is a lost person who is meant to be turning from sin. Surely someone can only 'turn from sin' AFTER already being converted?

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

Yes, scripture is very clear it is by believing in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, that by believing in Him, you have forgiveness of sin, everlasting life. I used to be fine with 'Turning from sin and making Jesus Lord of your life'..then someone said to me.. 'how does a lost...

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

If you don't succeed in keeping the commandments, as we all sometimes fail to.. even as believers, is your sin covered by Jesus's payment for your sin?

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

Yeah..imitate God who is Jesus :) I try to do the same. You are right that all the denominations can't all be right. But the Bible interprets itself, and you find churches that more accurately stick to what it says.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

He who endureth to the end will be saved is about being saved from trials and tribulations. Not being saved from hell, eternal salvation. The context in Mathew 24 is of deliverance/rescue from difficult times. Saved in scripture can mean either eternal deliverance or deliverance from a bad...

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

It certainly is a free gift. And it is given by belief on the Lord Jesus Christ. As recorded all thru the book of John, in Acts with the jail, plus other accounts. Belief is not a work.. and comes thru being drawn by the will of the Father. But I am no Calvinist and know that drawing can be...

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

Here is an awesome response to God to be saved: Luke 18:13 KJV And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

    Is Salvation instantaneous and permanent?

There is no contradiction between Paul and John.. or James. They talk on different aspects of the faith, justification and sanctification...but don't disagree with each other. For eg... who is being written to? What is the subject, time and place.

No one can 'achieve ' heaven. Eternal salvation is unmerited favour. Perseverance is part of sanctification, not justification.

    Is Salvation instantaneous and permanent?

Eternal salvation is the once off permanent thing.. believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Daily salvation, daily service .. is different and dependent on serving
