Well, I personally welcome a little "migration" within the thread. It does indicate where an individual's interest is, good or bad. I think there are better or worse people in every social group, religious or otherwise. Backsliding from Mormonism is not, however, the same thing as backsliding...

Word salad--translation--you don't make any sense. The LDS company that assisted in the production of "The Chosen" had nothing to do with the story line. It was a Christian production. It seems that if they hired a janitor in the production of the film who was LDS that you would then call it an...

I'm not hostile at all. I am, however, perplexed. You keep referring to an article you posted that comes to the opposite conclusion you say it does. I'll say it again. "The Chosen" is *not* an LDS production. A Mormon outfit may have helped with the production in a peripheral way, but had...

Yea, you read the article backwards, and are now congratulating yourself. It's a free world.

I think you're looking at it with a critical eye, seeing things that just aren't there. I see nothing about the history of J. Smith. I see nothing about the LDS producing "The Chosen," with the exception of one of many who made contributions without affecting the story. I think the article did...

What "repeated, nuanced, terminology" do you refer to? I think the article did a good job explaining that "The Chosen" is not really an "LDS production." As for Dallas Jenkin's view that "the Mormons have the same Jesus as I do," I certainly question that, though I'm not sure "The Chosen"...

I think it is misleading to call "The Chosen" an "LDS production." Here is an article entitled " ‘The Chosen’ creator Dallas Jenkins clarifies his ‘Mormons are Christians’ comments. https://www.christianpost.com/news/dallas-jenkins-clarifies-his-mormons-are-christians-comments.html...

This is an "LDS production?" How did you determine this? Thank you.

Your English was a little poor there so I'm not sure what you were saying? I think you were trying to defend the "Prosperity Gospel?" There is "prosperity" in the word/the Scriptures. As I said, God promised a nation, ie Israel prosperity overall, as opposed to just individuals, if they, as a...

I'm willing to discuss virtually anything in God's word (the Scriptures). It appears to me that you've grabbed hold of the word "riches" and have recognized that it applies to our current experience of Christ, as well as something we will get to experience in the future Kingdom? The "riches of...

Yes, a person who is in the ministry and makes money through the ministry looks very bad if he has 40 million dollars! The same thiing with a politician who makes his or her money off of government taxation and winds up super-wealthy. It's true that a minister can write books and invest on the...

Using AI does not mean the event did not happen. I'd appreciate it if you find evidence that it didn't happen, or that it did happen. My AI search says it did happen. AI embellishments can be used in probably as many ways as you can imagine. But it doesn't mean artificial aids invalidate the event.

AI can use embellishments and still represent a real interaction. I doubt Osteen's TV show would offer a repeat performance assuming one did happen? I'd love it if someone can prove the event didn't happen. My AI search says it did happen. I'm interesting in the truth.

Good point. I've been looking--unsuccessful so far. Please note that on the site my response was acknowledged. BTW, I meant to say "613 requirements" in the Law.

A critique of Osteen's Prosperity Gospel: I submitted my own response as follows: Simple answer has taken me years to learn: Jesus in his earthly ministry preached the Law, which required all 316 or so requirements and included, in Deuteronomy, the promise to prosper the Israeli nation. This...

God had given us a commandment the Tithes & Offerings. How people today followed the commandment?

This is just your "religious" opinion, although we do have limited agreement. In a tme of reilgious decline, the pastoral leadership can become a "professional ministry" more than a "spiritual ministry." We might call them "hirelings," because the leadership lacks a personal intimacy with God...

God had given us a commandment the Tithes & Offerings. How people today followed the commandment?

Sometimes this is true, yes. Sorry, this is a bit too cynical for me. A religious leader is not great because he refuses tithes, like Paul. And someone is not a legitimate religious leader only because he is a *great* leader. Some very low level leaders in small churches are still "leaders."...

God had given us a commandment the Tithes & Offerings. How people today followed the commandment?

Sounds like your thing is "upward mobility?" Fine, but that's not at all what I said. I was speaking of *religious leadership.* Do you think this includes all leadership? There are very many wealthy people, business leaders and political leaders, who do not need "tithes" to support their rise to...

God had given us a commandment the Tithes & Offerings. How people today followed the commandment?

We are not under the Law of Moses. But there are principles born of God's nature that we can learn from. 1) We learn that God wants to have laborers support ministers who do not have time to labor for their needs. 2) We learn that God has authority to interfere with our own material production...
