    Applying God's Word to Politics

We are responsible for being part of the solution or persevering in doing good (Matt. 6:10, Gal. 6:9, 2Thes. 3:13, Rom. 2:7, 1 Cor. 15:58). IOW, perhaps we should drone on and not be discouraged. I am reading Revolution, which describes how Americans in Valley Forge soldiered on without food...

    Applying God's Word to Politics

I guess you need to vote for whom you think is most morally correct, although not perfect by any means! I only know of Farage and the UK situation by watching Steve Bannon's show on RAV television.

    Faves from the 50s

Okay, never mind about the book then. I just thought others reading this thread who were alive during the 1950s might like to get it and reminisce.

    Applying God's Word to Politics

I am sorry the situation is so dire in the UK. I guess the best you can do is vote for the Reform UK party led by Nigel Farage and pray for the best. Don't give up and don't give in! (Acts 5:29) 🙏

    Applying God's Word to Politics

Persuasion is akin to education, and Christian governors are God's enforcers (Rom. 13:1-5).

    Hermeneutics: Interpreting Scripture

I just learned another Scriptural example of how reasoning guided by the Holy Spirit gives insights where Scripture is silent regarding various questions and modern issues (John 16:13). Such divine logic/guidance yields a fuller understanding of God's Word via discerning what is implied as...

What folks have learned via CC discussions:

Logical reasoning is good, but not emotional arguing. The point of this OP is to persevere in improving our reasoning regarding various issues. Learning/improving our thinking/opinions is what makes discussions on CC interesting.

What Were Ezekiel's Wheels and the Four Living Creatures?

Yes, math for physics; love for metaphysics.

    Applying God's Word to Politics

Yes, the NT method of persuasion is akin to moving the Overton window via education, so we need to apply Scripture to politics by electing government that will educate everyone including both prolifers and prochoicers.

What folks have learned via CC discussions:

Truth that I have had reinforced via CC discussions is that right reasoning guided by the Holy Spirit gives insights where Scripture is silent regarding various questions and modern issues (JN 16:13). Such divine logic/guidance yields a fuller understanding of God's Word via discerning what is...

    Applying God's Word to Politics

Your question is part of my #8. IMO it does not matter in what order the questions are asked as long as they are answered-- especially by those who claim to be prolife, because I doubt the sincerity or wisdom of those who claim to be prolife but abet abortion by refusing to support efforts to...

    Random Questions; Bible-based answers

RQ: Why do US polls predict possible Dem victories in the midterm elections?

    Applying God's Word to Politics

Well, the real question is complicated because it has several sub-questions: 1. What is abortion? 2. Is all abortion murder? 3. How should abortion murder be punished? 4. Should there be funerals for still-born babies? 5. Should all abortion be legal until all abortion is made illegal? 6. If...

    60's / 70's Favorites

That is a long one! Here are the lyrics, which mention Jesus many times, but were any of the songwriters (Robert Plant / John Paul Jones / John Bonham / James Patrick (jimmy) Page) Christians? In my time of dying Want nobody to mourn All I want for you to do Is take my body home Well, well...

    Faves from the 50s

I like Orbison also, but he does not crack the top fifty until 1960 per my book. I had not heard that Elvis song before, but that reminds me of the time a radio station was changing formats and they played nothing but Elvis songs for several days without repeating any as far as I heard. That...

    The Teachings of Jesus (TOJ)

TOJ #75: Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable. [Matt. 12:25-32//Mark 3:29//Luke 12:10, Luke 11:17-22] Jesus attempted (in v.25-29) to show the Pharisees how their logic was perverted. The meaning of “blasphemy” is speaking against or insulting (Heb. 10:29), and speaking comes from...

What Were Ezekiel's Wheels and the Four Living Creatures?

Okay, so you would translate Ezek. 10:10 as "And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as electrons. Hmmm.

    Applying God's Word to Politics

It sounds like you live in a MAGA state, whereas the Dem policies are regressive. I hope every state will become like yours, and limiting abortion to pre-sentience, which is stricter than viability by about three months, is progress toward that goal in the Dem states.

Are you a monergist or a synergist?

I am confident that God loves everyone and does not show favoritism BECAUSE of Scripture you choose to ignore at your own risk, and you would do well to read my thread with an open mind.
