    "Sinning Religion".

Your post reminded me of one of my favorite poems, THE SIN OF OMMISSION by Margaret Sangster. In Part: “It isn’t the things you do; It’s the things you leave undone, Which give you a bit of heartache At the setting of the sun. The tender word forgotten, The letter you did not write, The flower...

    "Sinning Religion".

With respect, I'm not sure what the differences are. Almost every Christian I know, especially me, struggle with grace. We sometimes understand it intellectually, but still return to the false feelings that it can't possibly cover me! I don't think this is sin but the working of the Holy...

    Some thoughts on the Sabbath...

No problem. If you follow my posts, I often refer to the Son of God several ways. Jesus, Christ, Messiah and Yeshua, his true Hebrew name. They are all valid and I use them interchangeably. I see no distinction and criticize none. About the Sabbath, why do you call it the Old Testament...

    It makes no sense…

    It makes no sense…

When first opening the Bible, one will quickly come to the conclusion that God makes no sense. He places Adam and Eve in paradise and then tempts them with sin? He follows by punishing mankind for thousands of generations when they slip-up? Cain kills Abel and God, the giver of law, protects...

    Some thoughts on the Sabbath...

Thank you for your observations and comments. I find it challenging to put complex thoughts into words that communicate accurately. It's really nice, once in a while, to hear from someone who understands the points I was trying to make.

    Great Expectations

Agree. I struggled with the word "harder' too. I thought about "broader" or "deeper" or "comprehensive" but wasn't excited about those either. Maybe "deeper" would have been a better choice. I appreciate the care you gave reading my post and your very insightful response.

    Great Expectations

What you say is true. Guidance from The Spirit it is never words, just an overwhelming conviction; a powerful sense of the righteous that is both beautiful and irresistible. I am not perfect by any means and make no claims to honest nor upstanding, but treasure those precious few moments...

    Great Expectations

Yes, indeed. I thought about using the, "Ye have heard..." statements in my OP but it just got to long.

    Great Expectations

Recently, mobility issues caused Bestwife and I to obtain a handicap parking permit. We were issued the permit after legally establishing her disability. I do not use the parking placard when Bestwife is not with me. I believe abusing this privilege violates Torah even though Moses’ list...

    Honestly Mistaken?

Agree. I sometimes (read) the truth but am mistaken about the meaning; or miss it entirely. This still happens. Once seen however; it can only be accepted or rejected. We must read scripture through those eyes and seek the deeper understanding. In an ancient Israel this is seeking Drush...

    Parallel Parables

Yes, that make perfect sense if we understand the differences between Torah (old) and Halakah (new). That's what the parables are about. It only gets confused if we try to use it to separate the First and Second Testaments.

    Parallel Parables

I had not drawn that conclusion before. Thank you for this revelation, I can now see that too!

    Parallel Parables

There are two very interesting parallel parables in Matthew 9:16. These involve repairing an old garment with new cloth and filling old wineskins with new wine. Jesus gives these parables in response to criticism that His disciples fail to keep Jewish man-made doctrine; Halakah. The Christian...

Long, difficult marriage with controlling Husband

I am going to suggest something that may be very difficult but I believe it is true. You are only half-way through your story. You understandably feel the pain of a very difficult situation, it is terrible and incredibly difficult, but it is not the end. It is the second to last chapter...

    Driving by an old church

While driving home on a very familiar road; something rather strange happened. I noticed, as if for the first time, the weathered sign in front of a small church. It read “New Testament Church”. My mind began going in several different directions all at once. Please understand, nothing in...
