    Some thoughts on Hebrew Roots.....

Jesus is a Hebrew. Those who identify with the Hebrew Roots movement are not trying to be Hebrew. They reject following Halakha (Man-made Jewish rules) and also reject following church doctrine (Man-made Christian rules). They believe that when one accepts Jesus as Lord and savior we become...

    Some thoughts on Hebrew Roots.....

While exploring the basis of my faith, it did not take long to discover the Hebrew Roots movement. In truth; I hold much in common with their beliefs. Their rejection of church doctrine and insistence on using the entire Bible are especially aligned with my views. But I found a problem. Many...

    Some thoughts on the un-churched....

I think there may be a difference between those who reject Yeshuah and "go out", and those who accept him but are unwanted and written off as irrelevant.

    Some thoughts on the un-churched....

I just hate to hear these types of stories but I know all too well how accurate they are. I once befriended a special needs member and was chastised for doing so when he prayed a little to fervently for their likes. I also learned what happens if you accidently sit in the wrong seat. These...

    Some thoughts on the un-churched....

Today, there are 156 million adults in America who are identified “Un-churched”; they do not attend regularly. In truth, 77% of these people are not “Un-churched,” they are “De-churched”. At one time they did attend regularly. More than half of these people report actively seeking something...

    Do we understand biblical truths

If I understand correctly this was the intent of your OP: "Should we not allow Him to guide us in updating the language we use to be as certain as possible that we are communicating His message in today's words?" As worthy as your goal may be, that is an impossibility. There are an estimated...

    Some thoughts on sin……

So, if selling food to the rich maximizes profits; then it's "Christian" to let the poor suffer? I don't think that is really what you meant.

    Some thoughts on sin……

In my limited knowledge I believe Quantum Physics can lead us to greater truth. I think it has already made strides in that direction so I would say yes. Psychiatry on the other hand is is the handmaiden of humanism. I doubt that will ever lead to truth. (Just my opinion)

    Some thoughts on sin……

It is not, but the Bible says taking advantage of another less powerful that you is a sin. Not my words. See friend, we don't disagree on everything!

    Some thoughts on the Sabbath...

Do I sense a bit of sarcasm? I don't agree there is anything backward in trying to understand scripture. Please tell me how getting a clearer understanding of sin perverts truth; or am I missing the point.

    Some thoughts on sin……

In the process of translating ancient Hebrew into English, most scholars agree some word meanings can get lost. These lost meaning can be important. In the translation of the Tanakh, several Hebrew terms get lumped together under the English word “Sin”. Chait is one of those words. This is...

    Some thoughts on the Sabbath...

"Set apart" can refer to the day itself. For six days a man is to work to support himself and his family. He is to eat, "At he sweat of his brow." On the seventh day, the day "Set Apart" for God, he is to rest. It is a day for him to acknowledge his faith in God's provision, to recognize...

Why are Christians leaving their churches?

I think it is terribly sad that the church sees this happening and does nothing. Once, when I tried to talk to the Pastor, alone and with respect, I was rejected as a heretic and shunned; two favorite weapons of the church. I believe the training they get at "seminary" blinds them to truth...

Why are Christians leaving their churches?

Do not confuse "Christianity" and church attendance with belief. No doubt these declines indicate a sick society going the wrong way down the hill. It is a true shame. But many of these souls have found a greater truth and reject the corruption they see. Choosing to learn and grow in...
