Is Knowledge of the Original Languages Necessary for KJV Believers?

The bottom line of understanding is the people thought the gods had returned. It's interesting that in 2,000 years even though the gods have not returned they are looking for them today more than ever. While speaking of the judgment of God, people say "well it hasn't happened yet, probably never...

Is Knowledge of the Original Languages Necessary for KJV Believers?

The KJV translators knew very well what pascha meant. They didn't have a brain lapse when translating it as Easter, nor was the intention to direct it towards a pagan holiday that wouldn't come about until many years after the event in the passage. Easter is the English word for the fulfillment...

Ēostre (also spelled Ostara) is the goddess of spring, not Easter. Satan is clever isn't he?

Is Knowledge of the Original Languages Necessary for KJV Believers?

Easter is the NT word for Passover. It would be incorrect to interpret Pascha in that passage as Passover since it had been fulfilled. It's not a pagan holiday.

Is Knowledge of the Original Languages Necessary for KJV Believers?

When reading the Greek or Hebrew, how do you know what it says? You translate it into English, yes? The KJV has already accomplished this, yes? That's my view.

The catching up of the saints is a metaphor? We should take it literally.

How much emphasis does God place on the "originals"? Where are the original ten commandments? Did not Moses destroy them? God had Moses make a copy of the original, and what Moses gave God's people was a copy. What language did Joseph speak to his brethren in Egypt? Answer: Egyptian, using an...

If I believe the KJV is the word of God preserved in English (and I do), then I must believe that all other English translations are false since they contain different words with different meanings and even different truths.

Thank you for your response. I can respect that. I'm not in full agreement because I believe that God has preserved his words perfectly and without error in English through the King James Bible, and God used no other translation to preserve his words. I believe all other translations are in error.

I don't need a word for word translation, just the precise words in my language which is English. I believe that to be the King James Bible. I believe every word is the exact word for us in English.

Then you believe that a translation cannot be the inspired word of God? You do know that in the "originals" there are translations.

Good post, but where can I find a copy of God's word that I can trust every word? Can I trust every word of God to be true? Yes, but where are they? Has God preserved every word for us today? Where? What you hold in your hand, can you trust every word to be true?

    Calvinism is Gospel !

Saved by works? Nope, saved by grace through the Lord Jesus Christ. God's righteousness through Jesus Christ is imputed to those who believe.

Was Judas Iscariot saved, or was he not?

Can a person ask God for forgiveness, even though there has never been a time when they received Jesus Christ as Savior? In my view, eternal salvation was made available after the cross. Where those OT saints forgiven through animal sacrifices?

What are you talking about? Why would you post such a thing? Read my post again, more carefully. If one is in Christ through believing the gospel, one is sealed unto the day of redemption. There is no casting out of Christ.

Was Judas Iscariot saved, or was he not?

Asking for forgiveness because he denied the Lord is not the same as believing on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus for sins.

The only fruit forbidden in scripture is the grape, Numbers 6. It was forbidden to those taking the Nazarite vow unto the Lord, to be separated unto the Lord. I have a pretty extensive study on why the forbidden fruit in the garden was a grape. In short, when Adam and Eve ate of the fruit, it...

Elect, salvation, and the book of life is not in the Ephesians passage. Salvation is not the context of Ephesians 1 but the blessings that are found in Christ that come to one who first trusts in Christ. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all...
