    Calvinism is Gospel !

Paul was not a Roman Catholic Calvinist. 1 Corinthians 9: 19 For though I be free from all men (not just some elect group), yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew (not just some elect group of Jews), that I might gain the...

    Calvinism is Gospel !

The word "according" takes the context back to the previous verse.

    Calvinism is Gospel !

I don't see the word "elect" in Ephesians 1. I see the word chosen as in the spiritual blessings in the heavenly places that, before the foundation of the world, were chosen to be given to those who are in Christ.

    Calvinism is Gospel !

I was once an enemy and a child of wrath. When I believed the gospel, I became a son. God changed his mind about me. I'm no longer an enemy and a child of wrath. Pretty simple.

    Calvinism is Gospel !

It wasn't a warning, but a statement. God's does not lie to get one to pray. See Jonah. Did God have every intention of overthrowing Nineveh? His word that Jonah preached was, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown." In forty days, was Nineveh overthrown? Nope. Why not? God changed his...

That "maybe" was not on my behalf, but on the behalf of who I was responding. As in "don't you think this is a possibility?" It is not a maybe with me, it is truth.

Agreed. And yet, many believers do not study the word and seek his will all the time. They fall out of the will of God. Heck, I fall out of the will of God constantly. God's will is not always followed. God's eternal will as stated in scripture will not change. He will make it come to pass. Do...

    Calvinism is Gospel !

God's character never changes. But to say God never changes is scriptural ignorance. One easy example is found in Matthew 5. God once stated under his law, eye for an eye...Christ comes along and changes the law he himself put in place. He changes it to turn the other cheek. God's direction for...

    Calvinism is Gospel !

Once again, you falsely accuse me of something I did not claim. God chose Jacob, not of any works he had done, but to serve his purpose according to the seed. This seed goes back to Genesis 3:15. Only one of those boys could serve God's purpose to carry the seed line. God chose Jacob, not Esau...

    Calvinism is Gospel !

Notice the text does not say, "According as he has chosen us to be in him before the foundation of the world." This is how Calvinists read it.

    Calvinism is Gospel !

Nope, on the contrary. I have posted several times about election including angels, Israel, and those in Christ. God has elected all of these to serve his purpose. The context is never salvation.

They all were chosen to serve God's purpose. They were not chosen to be saved. Thanks again.

    Calvinism is Gospel !

Calvinists like to place themselves as the context of Ephesians 1. The context of Ephesians 1 are the spiritual blessings found in Christ. Christ is the context of Ephesians 1. All the blessings are in Christ. This was determined before the foundation of the world. You ignore the word "according".

    Calvinism is Gospel !

No again, God has made a covenant with Israel, and he will see this through. He will not change his mind concerning this covenant.

    Calvinism is Gospel !

Nope, I stated that every instance that scripture states God will not repent, in every instance the context is Israel. Read my post.

    Calvinism is Gospel !

No, but it means that election is tied to service, not salvation.

    Calvinism is Gospel !

Christ is God's elect. Was Christ elected for salvation? The context of election is never about salvation, but service. The first mention principle gives us a working definition of the word "elect". Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have...

See post #4,098 10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not. Let me post again: and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not. This...
