Do pastors know who gives what?

My church has a specific time during the service where people can go off to the sides to put there money in a box or basket. People can give cash, checks or fill out an envelope if they want their offering to come straight from the bank. They can also give electronically. Since the beginning of...

    GIVING/ OFFERING

As an example, my 16-year old daughter recently donated $X to a good cause thinking that it would reduce her taxes by $X. She mistankingly thought she would get an $X refund on her taxes because she gave. We used it as an opportunity to teach her that she wasn't getting any profit from the...

    GIVING/ OFFERING

Any sort of tax benefit you receive from giving to a church or charity shouldn't be viewed as a blessing or reward from the government. It should be viewed as an opportunity for the government to keep less of what God has given you through the labor you've given to Him and hopefully His people...

How successfully is Satan activities on earth?

Satan only has influence over you when you allow him to do so. When you don't acknowledge his actions, he has no authority over you. When you choose to walk in step with God and His Kingdom, you are immune to satan's ploys.

    How did you vote?

I voted for Trump and all things Conservative in my local and state of Colorado election. It was a great day for our country, but I'm saddened for Colorado and the things that were voted in; namely keeping abortion legal and taxpayer funded, but also the legalization of gay marriage. The...

    Preparation for the tribulation.

Whether or not it's for any sort of spiritual tribulation, my family and I do stock up on essentials in our home just in case things get wonky. (i.e. toilet paper shortage in 2020) We have some food, water, pet food, and other items just in case things ever get crazy.

    the Sabbath

I'm not missing the point. If we're supposed to be disciples of Jesus and we're told to follow Him, shouldn't we try to do all the things He did? Instead of making a distinction between what we think is applicable or not, when He never made that disctinction? In other words, when Jesus said...

    the Sabbath

So how much of Jesus' deeds, actions and life should we follow?

    Speak Your Mind.

If we consider God's words to the Jews as inapplicable to us because we aren't Jewish, can we consider God's words to the Galatians, Ephesians, Corinthians, etc. as inapplicable to us because we aren't part of those churches?

    the Sabbath

Did Jesus keep the Sabbath? If He did, and we are to be His disciples, then we should walk the way He walked. And if anything else in Scripture seems to contradict walking like Him, we need to re-evaluate what those apparent contradictions are truly saying in light of our Savior's example.

    GIVING/ OFFERING

Scripturally, does God call His people to give? If so, they should; regardless if they "want" to. Yes, He loves a cheerful giver. But we're usually called to sacrifice, give or live as He asks, regardless of whether we want to or not. There is blessing when we obey His Word, even if it's...

    Remember the Sabbath

Matthew 5:17-19 17 “Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished! 19...

    Thoughts on Halloween

I don't touch it at all. Too much darkness and too many occult spirits run rampant that day. If anything, our church gathers to pray against the day and all of the evil that comes with it.

    Sukkot

My family and I just returned from our Sukkot celebration. We camped for 9 days with our church with worship, teaching and fellowship every day. We're in Colorado, so it got a little cold, but it was an incredible time!

The Coming Tribulation: Many Brethren Are Ignorant About It

I originally asked people why they find it important. And then I answered a question directed to me.

The Coming Tribulation: Many Brethren Are Ignorant About It

No Scripture is trivial. But the endless debate of something that is going to happen in one form or another, and is a moot point if we're living in obedience to the Holy Spirit, seems trivial to me. Instead of pursuing when something will happen, I find it more useful to the Kingdom to teach...

The Coming Tribulation: Many Brethren Are Ignorant About It

Ever since I was delivered from the whole Left Behind worldview, I've honestly just taken the stance of "What does it matter?" when it comes to end times doctrines, While I don't believe in any form of rapture teaching, I find the debate of the timeline of tribulation a trivial matter. Until I...

    Remember the Sabbath

Do you think it's possible the Holy Spirit would ever lead you to do one of the 613 laws? Or are each and every one of those 613 forbidden and evil in God's eyes?
