Let's Make the Singles Forum Spicy Again!! (What Are Your Favorite Spicy Foods/Everyday Things?)

In my neck of the woods, I think a very small minority would consider carrot cake a spicy food. Even White people joke about Cracker Barrel and Luby's being too spicy for other White people.

Let's Make the Singles Forum Spicy Again!! (What Are Your Favorite Spicy Foods/Everyday Things?)

To clarify, I think because of where I grew up, a spice isn't really a spice unless it burns/stings. That isn't the most accepted definition though . I've referred to anything that wasn't spicy as a "seasoning". I guess it's not entirely wrong, is it?

Let's Make the Singles Forum Spicy Again!! (What Are Your Favorite Spicy Foods/Everyday Things?)

I know cinnamon is technically a spice, but I have never really seen it as such in my head. But since we are talking about spice/spicy and cinnamon fits in that category, I would recommend going to a real authentic Mexican restaurant (not Taco Bell....) and ordering horchata. Confirm it's...

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

I swear you were inside my mind a few weeks ago when I was reading Genesis again. I'm perhaps a bit more cynical than you are though. I've always had a negative interpretation of this story, in particular Abraham. I can't fault a man for worrying about his life, but to be willing to essentially...

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

Very interesting study. I'll have to try to find it so I can dive deeper. The "Not a Blank Slate" part, would this indicate that there is more objectivity than subjectivity as to what is beautiful? It would dispel cultural bias and perceptions to what beauty is. Very intriguing.

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

If I had to take a position, I would say it's more beneficial than it is disadvantageous. However, from a male perspective, I can give anecdotal evidence of people assuming you are a d-bag for simply presenting yourself in an otherwise professional manner (polo and dress pants). I've asked...

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

Makes me think of Val Kilmer who died yesterday.

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

I'll have to watch this movie. Sounds interesting! Your post sort of reminded me of Norma Jean Baker's story (Marilyn Monroe). Classic beauty with a short and tragic life.

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

Oof, I'm sorry for the experiences you shared but appreciative your input. While I may not feel the exact same way as you do about redheads, I sort of understand. The difference is that I find that they are either really attractive or really not. Rarely have I see a "mid" redhead. I remember...

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

You're absolutely right. Great point. If we look through a political lens, I think it has played a factor in how people vote/support. I'm not saying it's entirely why people vote for a certain candidate, but I think it's certainly a boost. Think of people like Gavin Newsom for example, all I...

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

Not offended at all sister. I appreciate your feedback. I actually roll my eyes when people bring up "privilege", but this is one privilege I think actually exists. I wanted to hear Christian thoughts on this as I, unfortunately, live in a secular world and hear their thoughts on topics more...

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

I love how your first thought is utility when it comes to some of the objective markers of beauty. I think it speaks to your character (positively of course). Thanks for your input.

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

I agree that there is a lot of subjectivity to beauty, but I believe people (in particular one sex) tends to ignore the objective markers of beauty. I don't know if this is conscious or subconscious for people to deny objective markers, it's just difficult to believe anyone could think it's...

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

If pretty privilege exists, and I think that it does, should the prescriptions be to the pretty people or to those that give the privilege to them (society)? What prescriptions are there, if any?

Would You Go on a Blind Date?

I need to note, the demonstrations were of mostly secular women who leaned feminist (which is largely the representation of the average American woman). That's a bit of context that is relevant. From my anecdotal experience, theistic women (even non-Christian) tend to be a bit more based.

Would You Go on a Blind Date?

On a side note, I've seen demonstration after demonstration that women consistently think they are about 3 points higher than most people would objectively rate them (strictly superficially). Men are more likely to give a realistic answer. One could argue it's good to gas yourself up, but...

    Does "Pretty Privilege" Exist?

"Pretty privilege" refers to the social advantages and preferential treatment that individuals receive as a result of being perceived as physically attractive. Do you think this exists? If so, does it exist for both sexes? Are there any negative/disadvantages to being "pretty"?
