The Second Coming is NOT the Rapture

1Thessalonians 4:17 is the scripture used to teach a false doctrine. In this verse the words “ caught up” are called the “rapture”. The words IN LATIN are called “rapture” so I guess you could call it that, but this chapter is not talking about a SECRET “snatching away” of the righteous as...

problem related to praying in tongues

Acts 1:4- the word Promise is referring to the Holy Spirit and is capitalized; all pronouns referring to Christ are capitalized Isaiah 49:7, the word “One” Hebrews 3:3 and Ephesians 1:7, Romans 5:17, “Servant” in Isaiah 53:11,, Revelation 12 the word “Child”; and James 4:12 the word “Lawgiver”...

problem related to praying in tongues

You make several good points. However, most people fail to understand that “speaking in tongues” was a New Testament practice lasting only until the perfect word of God was complete and delivered to the saints. I Corinthians 13 says that “where there are tongues, they shall cease”…when that...

    One Baptism

Wayne gave scripture as proof of his argument. Where is your “proof”? Where is the scripture that teaches what you say? You cannot ask us to believe it just because you say so. Yes, in the first century there was Holy Spirit baptism, BUT… it had to be “given” by God and as far as I can find...

Did Jesus ever tell us that we no longer need to keep the law of Moses?

2 Timothy 3:16 says that ALL scripture is inspired by God. There are 3 in the godhead: God, the Father; God, the Son; and God, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is just as much GOD as Jesus. 2 Peter 1:21 days that we got the scriptures by “holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the...

Rightly dividing the word of God #2 2 Timothy 2:15

I agree. The principles that apply here to tithing, also apply to keeping the Sabbath day and all other practices under the old law of the Jews.

Rightly dividing the word of God #2 2 Timothy 2:15

In a previous post, I discussed how there were 3 different laws in the Bible. The first was the Patriarchal law (Genesis) that was universal for all people and races. (Called the law of the father’s). Abraham, Issac, Jacob, and Joseph all lived under this law. Then God chose a...

Why I don't like organised religion

I understand why you feel this way. And I partly agree with you. Denominationalism is scriptually wrong. Jesus prayed that we would all be one. The scriptures teach that division is wrong. The word “denominate” means to divide. The Catholic Church claims to be the first church but that is a...

    Controversial Topics Forum

I probably would not qualify as one to answer your question since I don’t have a vast knowledge of the Hebrew or Greek language but my question is, what is the problem? Does God not mean what he says? The fact that most people totally ignore what the Holy Spirit says or try to explain it away...

    Bible Study (Room)

I would like to have a Bible Study where we search the scriptures to see what they say. Did you have a topic in mind? I have a few that I can suggest.

Rightly dividing the word of God. #1

In 2 Timothy 2:19, The scriptures talk about “rightly dividing the word of truth. Many misunderstandings arise from not knowing how to divide the Bible. The first division we need to understand is the distinction between the Old Testament and the New Testament. In the Old Testament we learn...

The Five B's of Bible Baptism Article

Yes. I totally agree with these verses of the Bible. I might add that there is only 1 baptism that is recognized in the scriptures for salvation, and that is water baptism —not Holy Spirit baptism. Holy Spirit baptism was never commanded for everyone. It was given to a few people in the...

The conversion of Saul of Tarsus Acts 9

Well, I at least agree with the last sentence, that scripture must harmonize with scripture, but fail to see how faith only harmonizes with “not” by faith only in Jas.2:24 or baptism does not save with “baptism saves” in 1 Pet. 3:21.
