    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

My main point is that believers will be very firm and exacting in quoting the verses of the bible in order to condemn gay people. There is no way they can join most churches AND enjoy a relationship with someone they love. However, the words of Jesus himself are ignored by the same churches...

    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

Well, if they were going to be consistent they would need to interview all the divorced people who have remarried. If it was not for the reason Jesus said was acceptable then they are committing adultery and will need to annul their new marriages so as to be repentant, and therefore forgiven...

    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

That is not what Jesus says in Matthew 5. Divorce is possible; but he is clear that if they remarry ( except where the divorce was a result of sexual infidelity) then they commit adultery. If the marriage didn't work out then they can separate and confess their mistake, however they should...

Has the mainstream media ceased to be reliable as a source of news that is true or accurate?

In the UK I have become disillusioned about the quality of news reporting. There is alot of needless padding, and opinion driven news rather than facts. Crucially what is left out of the news can be as important as what the editor chooses to include. The BBC was interviewing a man who was on...

Are You a Correct Believer in Jesus Christ?

Knowledge of God may not be human originated, but it is humanly understood. How do we know when we know God? When we fully love. The Good Samaritan was good because he loved.....not because of his belief structures.

Are You a Correct Believer in Jesus Christ?

I do care about understanding and knowledge. But this is never static. It is always being refined and evolving......especially when it comes to God! I don't think God is a doctrine or reducible to human formulas. There are trillions of galaxies in our universe.....and I think I can have God...

    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

Other peoples sin is of no concern to me. It is between them and God. As is mine. My point was that as an organisation the church will preach heavily against homosexuality ( which they say is against God's word) but not against people being married a 2nd or more times whilst their previous...

    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

Jesus says that anyone who divorces his or her partner ( except for sexual infidelity) commits adultery. You say the bible condemns adultery. So why do I never hear a preacher railing against people in the church who are on their 2nd or more husband, or wife? Why does the church not condemn it...

    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

I agree. I,m not sure hating is the way to go. Hatred doesn't tend to bring understanding and enlightened thinking to what we hate. This is especially true when we are trying to work out the inner working of someone else's soul, which only God knows. So who are we to judge others? I seek self...

    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

So is divorce ( except under strict conditions). Jesus said that if someone divorces their partner and remarries they commit adultery. Is the church saying to all the people on their 2nd, 3rd or even more marriages that they need to repent? Are they being asked to annul those marriages and go...

    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

Fair enough. I do seek God. I am happy to answer to God. I just hope he isn't like some of his followers.

    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

I was a committed christian. I invited Jesus into my life. I read the bible. I prayed. I was prayed for for deliverance. It did not change my sexuality. I wanted the change, but it didn't happen.

    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

A thought provoking and fascinating article from Mr. Hickey. I read some of the other articles on his website. He is a licensed psychologist who is part of the "anti-psychiatry" movement who speaks out against the whole basis for modern psychiatry: the medicalising of problematic human...

    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

It is really difficult trying to get Christians to understand that people don't choose their sexuality. For a gay person that is like hearing that they choose to beat their heart, or choose blue eyes instead of brown. I mean I should know what my own experience of life has been! We don't...

    Fact Checking LBGTQ+

I think you misunderstood my point Magenta. I meant that believers will use this scriptural verse to justify a position against homosexuality, but in it Paul talks about men and the "use of women". . I wonder why this using of women is not protested, but homosexuality is?
