Jesus and his disciples didn't get sick

It struck me that there is no mention of any sickness in Christ himself and his apostles. It is amazing that Christ healed countless people, and, apart from mention of fatigue and thirst, no disease or infirmity afflicted he or his closest disciples. Unless I am mistaken?

When are we most vulnerable to the devil?

Not if you pray for protection beforehand.

When are we most vulnerable to the devil?

It all makes sense. I think it's a matter of being spiritually vigilant and always turning to Lord Jesus. When things start going wrong with ferocity, I pray the more. When I have wretched unworthy thoughts I catch myself and pray to Christ to forgive me and guide me to be right with Him...

When are we most vulnerable to the devil?

I thought it might be when we are bereaved, upset, angry. That is when one might think evil spirits would attack , tempt and undermine us. Yet it could be most likely we are most vulnerable when we have felt closest to our Lord God? When we have been baptized for instance? This was the point...

    Christianity curiously unsettles people

It's not just you. People are just too ready to argue and I just won't.

    Christianity curiously unsettles people

    Oh I do rejoice.

    Christianity curiously unsettles people

I have noted that at times during arguments about seemingly random matters, unbelievers will begin to attack the fact that I am a Christian. They snipe out comments pointing out that I am a hypocrite or that I am obviously 'not a good Christian'. I presume they mean I ought to be a doormat and...

    Vitamin D has helped me

I did not know that. Thankyou. All I know is my well-being has returned by correcting this deficiency. It is essential to remember that we help ourselves a great deal to maintain health.

    Vitamin D has helped me

This I can believe, it has definitely restored me.

    Bringing up of our children

Too brutal. I cannot stand violence of any kind. I do believe in reasoning and plenty of alternative ways. Children can become brutalised and filled with hatred if punished too severely. I was punished several times for trivial reasons and I still remember the unfairness and distress. I couldn't...

    Bringing up of our children

I brought mine up with love, I never physically punished them even when perhaps they were very naughty. I read something in a book about Billy Graham and his family and it rather disturbs me. He said once, that his wife Ruth brought up their kids, with 'a Bible in one hand and a switch in the...

Do you know what Lord has revealed to me today?

I love it! I feel you are powerfully refreshed and inspired. I find through constant prayer that God never ever fails me. When I need to take decisions I pray and only if I feel that special peace that only Christ brings, do I go ahead. In trust and faith I proceed. With God I can do...

    Are there really true atheists?

I am reading a book about Billy Graham, the great evangelist. He said he had never met anyone who he thought was a real atheist. That to me is an interesting point and I wonder if he was right?

    Vitamin D has helped me

It's great you have good results. I would advise checking the amount you are taking perhaps as it may be rather a lot? Above certain levels it will be toxic.

The effect of daily Bible study

I just read what parts I am drawn to, I see no reason to read the whole Bible systematically. By reading different parts, I have built a good basic working knowledge of the Bible. I never try to memorise any of it, I just try to understand.

The effect of daily Bible study

You have not failed at all, because God has a unique plan for you. The judge is God of course, not any human being such your dad. By being saved, you are a winner as your eternity is with the Lord.

    A question about original sin

That's true. I suppose I am trying to apply it to our lives. The question being, are we born good but become sinful and cynical only through the influence of others around us. Nature versus nurture argument. Why did Eve decide to do the wrong thing, further, why did Adam follow her actions...

    A question about original sin

What if there had been no tempter/serpent and Eve had decided totally herself to eat of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge then leading Adam to do the same? Knowing our sinful human nature, that is perhaps not all that farfetched a scenario, surely? God created human beings with free will. It...

The devil sinned from the beginning

I'm still confused. Why was the serpent/devil, a fallen being, in the garden at all? I thought all was to be a perfect life there for Adam and Eve who I take it we're born pure of sin.
