There are two current scams going on right now. There is
a phone call coming in from person claiming to be with the
IRS and they are telling the party they call, they owe the
Government such and such amount and if they do not pay
up, they will go to jail, or whatever it takes to get it from them.

Okay, more than likely no one here is going to buy into that.
You do know the IRS does not make phone calls. But, if you
should get such a call, it is said to call the number back just
to be certain.

Another scam is Jury Duty. I am sure most have heard of this
one. You get called and told you have neglected to appear to
serve on the Jury. They then try to get a fine out of you. You
would not be called. At least in my State it comes in form of
a letter notifying you to appear.

I am going to post another one that happened to a friends
Mother in Colorado.

BEWARE : Home Security Alarm Scam
This is notice of a possible Home Security Scam to watch for.
A friend in another State warns a high pressure salesman came
to her Mother's home and conned her into signing up with a new
alarm company with a five year contract.

The friend caught the man before they tore out her Mothers old
system and installed new one. The company he was representing
was North Star Security Alarms. He was as she described, a real
fast smooth talker and when the daughter talked with him on the
phone she asked him to leave his card and leave her Mother's
home so she could discuss it with her Mother. He refused to leave!

He asked to talk to another family member to give him a sales
speech and convince him his Mother really needed this new
alarm. While the son demanded the sales person leave
the house, the sales person pushed the contract across the table
and pointed to the line so the lady would sign where he told her to.

Beware if anyone you do not know comes to your door and want
into your home, do NOT let them in. Once they get in you will
have difficult time removing them.

JK2, hey sis, how are you? :) I never answer my phone unless I recognize the number, and if I do happen to answer I tell them they have the wrong number!! LOL. I've never been contacted by scammers, but I can smell a con from a million miles away!! :) :p
