40+ Chat channel

I took notice that the teen channel has always been empty when I enter there. That's because the teens are in the lounge and the lounge is full.

I wanted to get away from the full lounge and went into the teen room to park my name while I did a few things in my home. When I returned I found I had been kicked out and told by message that it was strickly for the teen age kids. ( who are in the lounge ).

Now, I know teenagers ,or those under 40+ may feel left out, but believe it or not, there are some adults who do not desire to sit and listen to teenager chatter. I love teenagers and have raised three. But sometimes Adults want to be with adults only.

So, I am asking for a channel for Adults. Ages 40+.... or even 30+ thru senior citizen.

I enjoy the ministry opportunities here on CC, I just feel Id enjoy it much much much more if there was an adult's only channel.

May I have one please?

just as you said there are those who would feel left out. I myself am only 24 years old, so I would be left out in that aspect. I dont think limiting it to adults 40+ only is a very good idea. Because there are lots of things people my age can offer in a bible study or a discussion about God. Age shouldnt be an issue.

You also have to understand that the Teens channel is age specific because we do get some people here and there who dont belong in that chat simply because they are too old, and i think that concern with that is child/teen hunters often join sites like this for that purpose, because they are child predators and are there just for that reason. So its necessary for the admins mods to limit or watch who goes into that room baesd on age.

But I would personally feel left out, though we have a pretty decent amount of young children under the age of 18, we also have a considerable amount of people over the age of 40. The core amount of people from what Ive gathered are in the early 20s-30s.

I think it should be limited to adults only, but I dont think that limiting it to 30 or 40+ is really ideal for the range of people we have in this community. I absolutely think there should be an adult only channel, but I was thinking somewhere along the lines 18+. There are those of us who are mature enough to carry on an adult conversation without hogging the mic or being irrational or stupid for lack of a better term. Thats just my opinion though.

As it is, there are already loads of rooms that are always empty! Adding a new room isn't as easy as you may think..

In fact alot of the suggestions on this site aren't that easy, if they were we'd have done them already

We do try to move the younger chatters out of the lounge to another room if the conversation gets too silly, but at the end of the day you need to remember the lounge is just that A LOUNGE! It's a room designed for laid-back general chat. The conversation in that room can range from the best flavour of pop-tarts to political policies. As long as it's clean, and not offensive, anything goes in the Lounge.. and ALL AGES ARE WELCOME!!

I know you think some older people may feel left out, but you will also find that there are many older/adult chatters who frequent this site and really enjoy the mixed company. I think it's important to remember this is just a CHAT-ROOM, it's the internet, it's not real- life! If you really want to have a more in-depth conversation, there are plenty of other rooms that you could do that in.. prayer, biblestudy, random!

In all honesty we have added rooms in the past on the request of specific users, and they never get used. I really wonder if a 40plus room would fall into the same category. I honestly can't see it being overflowing with chatters on a regular basis, but those are just my own thoughts.

I had to add this..... Not that it pertains to adding a room for adults. But the teen room hasn't been accompanied in almost a year!! Yeah..... it's sad.

DeeperStill, I hang out in the lounge a lot and I know teenagers can get annoying. And I, myself can get annoying; especially with my giggling. So, if I've ever gotten on your nerves, or if I ever, please don't hesitate to pc me and ask me to quiet it down.

The new room addition, I know is a difficult thing to do... And Iraassup is right. There are plenty of rooms that don't get used most of the time now. Even if there are one or two people in there, they are usually just away and not really listening.

Anyywayyy. Here's a teen replying to a confrontation about younger people taking over the Lounge.... Nice one, bananaboo. Real nice.

I personally can see all points of view here...I myself am 22, however, not all young adults, nor all teens are ''disrespectful/disturbing''. In fact, I try my best to be as mature and all as I can be, although at times we all let lose a bit and enjoy ourselves and things it's not bad. I don't think an adults only room is such a bad idea, but one for certain ages probably so, I mean, there's plenty of adults on this site who by their actions you'd think were a teen or child to be honest. Also, doing that, takes the wiser view of older adults that teens and young adults see and need at times.

Granted people of all ages can be flat out rude, annoying, and so on, I just pray about it, God help me stay calm and focused. If need be, go to a pm, or another room, and if those people follow you, ask them not to, or something. Exchange emails, instant messengers, whatever need be. We can't expect the world to be perfect, or ''accetable'' on things, let alone a chat room. Gotta give the mod's credit though, they work hard on here, and well, lets just keep praying for them, and this site. God bless all.

I have to say adding another room is not the answer. We have the young adults room which was put up for people any age who wants to be silly. We have the random room now as well, the text only room was asked for and no one is hardly ever using these rooms. Beside the Biblestudy and prayer room. If we feel the lounge is getting to be too much I know myself I will get whom ever I am talking to, to move to one of those rooms where is is more quiet.. I love the young people in here and I can carry on silly at times myself I know. But I also like times of quiet. So for myself I just go to one of the unused rooms. If it gets too silly I also will just let them know.. Most times if you ask nicely the teens will settle down..Treat them with respect and they will also respect you most times. I always try to remember what it was like when i was a teen. I have to say there have been many times that some of these teens have touched my heart and been a blessing and uplifted me when I took the time to listen to them.. We have some great Christian kids in here, I feel blessed to get to know them .
