Is there any way that you could make 'the respond to thread box' bigger because there seems to be room to allow a box slightly larger than the current one which would accommodate less scrolling? idk just a thought
 
In the 'quick reply' box, on the far right there are 2 arrows & 2 A's. Click the 'down' arrow & it makes the size of the box bigger.
From my understanding of your request that should resolve the problem, unless i'm missing what you're asking.
