Sadly. They do NOT understand obedience OF FAITH (or, obedience TO THE FAITH) — Romans 16:26
Or Obedience / Faith Romans 1:5; Romans 16:26; Romans 15:18; Romans 10:16; Hebrews 3:18-19; 1John3:23 (belief is commanded - how do we believe apart from obeying?); et.al.

1. Obedience is not a work to earn salvation but a response to God's grace.
2. Faith and obedience are intertwined.
3. Salvation is a gift received through faith, which demonstrates obedience.
#3 not only does faith demonstrate obedience, but it's so intertwined #2 as to be stated in parallel in the Text, and since faith is not a meritorious work, then neither is obedience #1

@Believer08

If you should tune back in, thanks for the work and the thread. IMO it's one of the most important ones I've seen. Sorry to see it go off the rails, but this is par for the course around here.

Nice work!

Amen! Interacting with tulipists on CC has helped me clarify and specify this truth that previously was more implicit in my credo.

You, are not hearing me. I am water Baptized in Father and Son. As the symbol of being Spirit Baptized in / with Father and Son....
I was water baptized in the titles as well. However, once I became aware of exactly what Jesus commanded, I obeyed and was water baptized in His name. Why? Because it was Jesus Himself that was crucified to save my soul. And according to the Apostle Paul those who obey water baptism are being buried with who? Jesus! (Rom. 6:3-6)

And, I thank the Lord Jesus for revealing that water baptism is so much more than just a symbol. Obedience to the command brings about what God's word says; Remission of one's personal sins. Something Jesus made possible for all mankind through His crucifixion.

The only
misconception
of obedience
is them
who think
they are going
to be in the new creation
and on the new earth
when they do not
overcome their flesh
and the world
and become
holy
unto the Lord.
