I believe this to be a very good idea, one where it will use the same underlining the text in error with the red and grey squiggly lines just the same as here on the forums in the textual input areas.

A spell checker would be great....but it would be even better if the words had to be actually fixed before the post was able to be published. I really dislike spelling (and grammar) mistakes. A few is fine...no one is perfect, but too many people just don't care, don't know, don't think it is important or...who knows.
The suggestion is for the chat rooms, not the forums.
And it would not work to Require fixes to spelling considering this is an international site and many may not know how to spell well enough. And if a person doesn't care, they should not be required to fix it. If those things bother you then just put them on ignore.
