TEXT: Genesis 2:15-3:24 A study of the serpent!
Genesis 3:1
serpent from Hebrew (5175 Strong’s) a snake or whisperer from its hiss and
is the same word in verses 2, 4, 13 and 14.
Characteristics of the serpent
A. Vs. 1 subtle from (6175 Strong’s) which means cunning, prudent and crafty in a bad sense.
B. Vs.1 can speak, he said from (559 Strong’s) which means boast, challenge, to charge or speak against
C. Vs. 4 is a liar
D. Vs. 5 is manipulative, deceptive, even knew something that man did not know and quoted the word of God. Note chapter 2:16-17, 3:5 and 3:22 which is first time recorded as from God in bible.
E. Vs. 13 Uses trickery
F. Is judged and the evidence of this judgment points to the fact that it was a snake in the garden that did this. Note the judgment of the serpent.
1. Cursed above all cattle and all beasts of the field cursed from (779 Strong’s) to
execrate or curse bitterly and above from (5921 Strong’s) over, upon or against.
We would say above and beyond.
2. Was made to slither on his belly all the days of his life.
3. Was to eat dust all the days of his life. I.E. snakes must lick air, dirt constantly
as this is how the smell and or find prey.
4. Enmity from (342 Strong’s) meaning hostility and or hatred between
(thee) snakethy seed?????

with particular attention to verse 29..the context is fall of Lucifer, Babylon and the destruction of Assyria upon the mountains of Israel and God focusing on “Palestina” This statement as well as verses 26-26 prove future context.

Flying
from (5774 Strong’s) to cover with wings or obscurity hence to fly or fly away

from (3882 Strong’s) meaning a serpent or some other large sea monster used figuratively of the constellation of the dragon and symbolic of Babylon.
Piercing
from (1281 Strong’s) and means a fugitive I.E. the serpent as in fleeing and the constellation by that name crooked, noble and piercing

from (6129 Strong’s) and means tortuous and crooked

The word punish means to visit with hostile intent by the way.
