since in another thread we are talking about a Husband shaped Hole... I thought we should talk about wife Shaped holes...
so, do you guys have any such holes?
Do you belive that God has designed your heart with it's particular shape(including the hole) so that he can happily provide someone to fill it?
What are you doing today to honor God with the pleasure of filling that hole???

Well, at one point I felt like that. I've had so many voids in my heart that nothing could fill. Friends, family, and relationships, things that involved having some people around. But I've noticed people were not my real answer. So, I came to God on many accounts of trying to solve that exact problem. The only time I ever felt whole is when I'm reading God's word. Where ever I am, who ever I'm with, what ever I'm doing, when ever I'm doing it, I have noticed that I never had that content satisfication of readin God's word, and doing it. I may not be perfect, but I could honestly say that God will always fill those holes in my heart, no matter how far He seems.

Besides, if God sees fit to bless me with another soul to share my limited life time here on earth, then sure. Who am I to deny such a blessing from God? :D

Yes Kooper ... there is no hole that God can't fill...... and there is many ways He can do this...
That's where the plan of God for your life comes into play..
So for Born again Christians completeness means walking in the will of God.. God directs us and guides us by His peace(Romans8:14)... so when we have the peace of God means we are whre God wants us to be...... :-)

I can't say I have this so called hole. The only hole is God shaped which I mentioned in the other thread but thus far completely ignored. I agree with you totally Kooper. Nothing else works.

I dont think the original poster meant she was lacking God. She has God but feels ready for a mate and is sometimes lonely without one. I think it is unfair to suggest that just because someone truely desires a mate, that they are missing God. You can have God and still want more in your life. That is not to say it is okay to be mopey or unhappy with what you do have. But its unreasonable to think that anyone who wants a mate will not think about it and never feel lonely.

I just bought I Case 930 tractor sunday for scrap iron price.......Comfort King runs on diesel...........no hole here

This is an animation of a poem from my very favorite poet, Shel Silverstein. Though a children's book, this poem has much greater meaning than what a child will understand at first. It's ultimately a very whimsical way of spelling out how relationships with people can't complete us. Shel is not a Christian, so he doesn't play the theme of being complete in God in this poem, though God does. This is simply about how we can't rely on people to complete us. :)

Personally I think when many people say they have a "hole" or a "void" they dont necessarily mean within themselves. They are talking about something missing from their life, another chapter to the book.

I think its different. A person who is missing a peice is probably stagnant in their life, not growing, not happy, not enjoying career or hobbies, depressed and lacking God. But a person that is missing something from life feels like there is more out here that they have not yet experienced. For many people relationship/marraige is the top of that list. It is most of our greatest desires, so why wouldn't we feel like we should have that at some point.

That was not my point thimsrebma. I've never heard of this and the only hole I know of is the one that God fills. It just sounds like another cliche to me. I see nothing wrong with yearning for a husband/wife but I wouldn't call it a hole. That implies a void or vacumn and just how big is the hole and does it get bigger with advancing age. It certainly isn't one of my greatest desires.

I have a Porsche shaped hole in my Garage.

A fender stratocaster shaped hole on my wall.

A bacon shaped hole in my stomach.

I'm sure God's ministry for me is to Drive Fast, Rock Hard and Eat Bacon but, I'll just have to wait for His timing. :)

Though you havnt heard of it doesnt mean people don't feel that way. And just because they feel like they could have more or something different in their life doesnt mean they are lacking God.

Well it reminds me of a Robbie Williams song:

I just wanna feel real love,
In a life ever after
There’s a hole in my soul,
You can see it in my face, it’s a real big place.

The title of this thread has made me think unholy thoughts. God help me. Shakes head at self.
