An Oregon company may be using abortion remains to generate electricity.
They company has a contract with a medical waste company in Canada.
They use the waste to generate electricity.
Some of the waste may contain aborted babies.

MARION COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -Marion County has put a stop to a company that was converting human tissue - and possibly aborted fetuses - into electricity for Oregon homes.

A report out of Canada prompted Marion County commissioners to schedule an emergency meeting Thursday morning. That's when the commissioners gave final approval to an order to stop the company Covanta Marion from receiving medical waste until procedures are in place to prevent the burning of fetal material to generate power.

The county's order followed a report from an article from Canada, published Tuesday in Vancouver-based The B.C. Catholic. The British Columbia Ministry of Health confirmed that a Canadian company has a contract to send biomedical waste, including fetal tissue, to Oregon where it's incinerated.

"We are outraged and disgusted that this material could be included in medical waste received at the facility," said Commissioner Janet Carlson. "We did not know this practice was occurring until [Wednesday]."
The Covanta Marion waste-to-power plant processes 550 tons per day of municipal solid waste, generating up to 13 megawatts of energy sold to Portland General Electric.
"We provide an important service to the people of this state and it would be a travesty if this program is jeopardized due to this finding," Commissioner Sam Brentano said.
Covanta Marion has not issued a public comment on the practice.

Thanks. Mine is from the "mainstream" media, so it might be viewed as more credible. Some write off info from The Blaze.
true. However, mainstream or not, it is always best to take everything with a grain of salt. ;)

If a person is capable of killing an unborn baby because the baby is an inconvenience. Should we then act surprised if they treat the body like garbage ? If they had compassion they would not be killing babies in the first place.

If they had smarts they wouldn't be making babies they don't want!

at this point the abortion has already happened. Refusing the medical waste isnt going to stop the abortions. It seems like some non-committal way to say you did something good, when you honestly accomplished nothing.

If true, it can make good fodder for the Pro-Life camp.
''Okay, mom, so is this how you want your baby to end up being used?''

The easiest way to bring a big change is to do it by a series of small changes. If everyone who thought they could not make a difference, united and took a stand together it would make a big difference.

I'm just saying if a woman got the abortion she probably isn't overly concerned with what happened to the remains.

So, basically, what you're saying is that the women who get abortions are cold heartless fish. That is something that actually makes sense!

i have trouble allowing myself to be associated with "pro life" groups. i certainly agree with them on the abortion issue but they seem to ignore another issue. the fact that 90% of the casualties in modern warfare are civilians. usually old people and children. (that figure is from a 1998 (?) scientific american.) an excellent example is the iraq sanctions. according to the lancet, 500,000 civilian deaths resulted from the sanctions, mostly the old and children.whan asked if it was worth it, madeline albright answered: "i think so." unless an american has an income below the taxable level or is a war tax resistor, he or she is a part of that particular holocaust. at one time christian just war theory prohibited making war on civilians. i guess it's ok as long as they are redefined as "collateral damage."
