Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses David, and the Prophets were only men. They were simple men who feared the Lord and obeyed his commandments of the Lord. They were not any more special than anyone today. They were simple men who had GREAT FAITH. These men were not holy enough though. These men were not righteous enough, not even Enoch, not even Elijah. Yes!! They were not holy enough to die for your sins. They were not perfect enough.
God has not changed at all, you can have the same faith as these men, but you will not have been faithful enough. So what is the end of faith? GOD IS THE END OF FAITH. Unless your faith surpasses God who created the heavens and the earth you have not seen the end of faith. And God is Lord of all. Who can surpass his wisdom, his knowledge? NO MAN!!! By Faith, righteous men lived their lives in obedience to God. Did they slip? YES!! That is why anyone who holds the law of Moses more dear than the words of Jesus Christ have missed the mark. They worship perishing things, like flesh, law, scriptures. But the words of Jesus are Spirit and Life. Life nor Spirit are perishing.
The psalms of David are fine, but they don't bring salvation. Sure David was considered a man after God's own heart, but what then of Jesus? Who more so to be one after God's own heart than his very own son? Jesus, in truth is not the Son of David. He is the Son of God. But why didn't men recognize him? It is because they were carnal minded, and full of Evil. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, the Prophets, THEY ALL KNEW JESUS!! They testified of him, before he even came in the flesh. All men of faith, they knew him. They heard his voice. Do you hear his voice?
When he came into this world there was NONE RIGHTEOUS NO, NOT ONE! They were ALL gone back. What then? Is Abraham not saved? Yes. His righteousness was according to his faith. Whereas the New covenant commands obedience to Christ the Old covenant demanded obedience to God. And the continuation of the New Covenant commands obedience to the Spirit, who are ALL ONE. Jesus is righteous seek Jesus. Seek his kingdom. May Jesus bless you.
