Tears are flowing from my eyes
All life within me wails and cries
How long O Lord, how must I wait?
I’m wrestling pride, guilt, and hate
In pride I turn away from You
and in anger I sin against You too
I murmur, complain, and grumble
do I realise its against You I mumble?
“Pick up your cross, follow Me” I hear you say,
“For I AM the truth, the life and the way”
Lord help me! I hear you calling
but Lord I’m tripping and falling
I’m slipping, crashing and stumbling
the harder I try, the faster I’m tumbling
Catch me Lord, before everything shatters
It’s only in You Lord that anything matters
I need your help, reach out your hand
Lift me out of this pit of sinking sand
I’m desperate for you now, I’m seeking Your face
Let it be eternal things that I continually chase
You’re here now,
and some how…
I know you were always by my side
Its only when I sin, that its I that tries to hide
Silly me, when you’ve already paid the cost
Thank you Lord, you sought me while I was lost
I cry about those who are unfaithful to me
but I’m unfaithful to you, Lord now I see…
You have shown me unconditional love and care
and in all honesty, to You, its not fair?
Lord, forgive my wandering heart
from You Lord, let me never depart
I have everything that I need in You
with all my heart I know this is true
Help me to love you more each day
Hold my hand, and show me the way
