(Hard truth, and when I speak of the church, I am not speaking of a particular church or even all churches. I am talking to the church or individual who needs to hear this message.)
Discipleship takes time, dedication, and commitment. We are not called to be lukewarm Christians. We are either all in or not. Being spoon-fed should only last during the infant stages of faith. Learn to feed yourself and help others learn to feed themselves. We are not to grow stagnant, apathetic, or even comfortable.
An active faith requires us to live out the Word of God, and this Word requires change, frequently uncomfortable change. Let us put our faith first rather than last. It should be made a priority within our time.
Do you realize the early church met consistently or even daily? In some accounts, from morning to night. This took faithful dedication. By now, many of us should be teachers, but we have grown content with the elementary truths.
For revival to occur, God is calling for the body of Christ/ the Church to be resurrected from its spiritual decay. It starts with us. How do we hope to slow the decay of culture if we (the church) are possibly dead or dying?
Hebrews 5:11-14
New International Version
11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
