And Christ is the Head of His Body, the Church.
"And He is the head of the body, the Church, Who are the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He might come to hold first place. For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in Him; and through Him to reconcile all things to Him, having made peace through the blood of His Cross, through Him, (1) whether the things on the earth or the things in the heavens. ..." Colossians 1:18-20 ONT Orthodox New Testament, Vol. 2, page 314.
Notes.
1. "And through Him to thoroughly reconcile all things to Him, having made peace through the blood of His Cross, through Him" (kai di' Autou apokatallaxai ta panta eis Auton, eirenopoieasas dia tou haimatos Tou Staurou Autou d' Autou). Saint Chrysostom: "Let though shouldest think that He undertook the office of a minister only, he says, "to Him" (eis Auton). Yet, elsewhere, he says, "God Who reconciled us to Himself (Eauto, reflexive) through Jesus Christ [2 Cor. 5:18]." ... A great thing it is to reconcile; but that this should be through Himself too, is a greater thing." [Hom. 3, PG 62:346 (cols. 320, 321).].
"Blessed Theophylact: "And through Him to reconcile all things to Him -- through Him"; that is to say, He, having energized this salvation for us, acquires it for Himself. he says this in order that thou mayest not think that He took the rank of a minister. "To Him," that is, He reconciled men to Himself. ... He did not say "to reconcile" (katallaxai) [cf. 2 Cor. 5:18-220; Rom. 5:10], but "thoroughly reconcile" (apokatallaxai) [cf. Eph. 2:16]." [Explanation for the Epistle of the Saint Paul to the Colossians, PG 124:472DA (cols. 1224, 1225).].".
