I've read it stated before online that all sins are forgiven when someone comes to faith in Jesus (past, present, and future). I'm just wondering the opinion of others if this is actually the case. I recall reading in the New Testament that the Father is just and faithful to forgive us our sins if we confess them to him and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). So I suppose the imperative is on us to confess our sins to God when we do sin, but what about when we sin and don't know we're sinning? This might happen from time to time as I don't recall much knowledge of sin before I became a Christian. Are these sins already forgiven? If someone dies with unconfessed sin are they still saved? Is someone in any peril to confess sin once they have sinned to "reclaim" salvation?

There is a saying in politics, "The cover-up is worse than the crime. " This is also true of sin.

Sins do not condemn us, since Jesus has born all our sins in Himself on the cross. However, the one sin that is not forgiven while we are still practising it, is deliberately lying in trying to cover up the sin we have committed even though the sin itself is forgiven already. This is why scripture is so strongly against lying and hypocrisy. We do not have to confess every sin, but we do need to confess our fault in sins the Holy Spirit reveals we are committing. This IMHO is the blasphemy/speaking a word against the Holy Spirit is about.

It can be forgiven imo, but we need to admit it and forsake it whenever the Holy Spirit points it out to us. We cannot have forgiveness for it while we are practising it.

The verse you cited says God will cleanse believers from all unrighteousness when they confess known sins,
which will continue until the end as long as they do not commit apostasy (Heb. 6:4-6, 10:25-26).

Hebrews 8:12

Yes. Our sins are forgiven and God remembers them no more.

1John 3:9
Those who are in Christ do not make a habit of sinning.

We are redeemed,reborn in Christ from what was a state of being sinners who sin.

When Jesus went to that cross willingly over 2.000 years go presently
He died once for us all in reconciling everyone to himself.
John 1:29 the Lamb takes away the sin of the world (In Daddy's sight only)
John 19:30 Done, did it we all are reconciled in the done work, once for us all as reconciled
New life given to anyone who goes to Father, Daddy, PaPa in risen Son for them to be given it, willingly, at no charge to the person that chooses to believe it, receives it, everyone that will not quit. Unless one has selfish desires to have this, God then not yet will give it.
Yet the reconciliation is done. once for us all through Son.
Authorized (King James) Version

Col 1:21-23

21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23 if ye (Therefore) continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
Do not put any faith in self or anyone other than the done work of Son, Jesus for you. Father approved and made you, once you decide to stand in belief you will see new
Ephesians 1:6
to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Ephesians 1:7
in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Ephesians 4:32
and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgivenyou.
Ephesians 1:13
in whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 4:30
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Therefore say thank you Dad from Father in risen Son for you personally too.
Psalm 103:12
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
John 19:28-30. (ask Father for the new heart offered in Ez. 36:26)
After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

new life to be or get given is in the risen Christ given by Daddy, Father, PaPa, it is not in the dead Christ. The dead Christ is done once for us all to believe and receive the Faith of God given them to be new in love and mercy to all as got done by Son once for us all (Hebrews 10:10)
Thanks, yes we are all reconciled in the death, no new life in the death, we had to get reconciled (Forgiven) first. The new life is in the resurrected Son for us all to stand in belief to see it and be new in it, this gets seen from Father, for all that do not quit belief to see it, will one day see it after many troubles of evil, trying to keep anyone from seeing the truth through the veil, we all go through, thank you
Colossians 1:21
And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
Love from God to us all
Romans 3:25
whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

It states that are past, not future, for no one can truly predict any future. For anyone to say I will not, will get caught in saying one will not, the same as Peter did, who denied Jesus three times who said he would not.
Therefore if you sin again, which all have and do trying not to get caught up in sin get caught up in sin, by not putting it behind them and asking God, not self or others how to stop. God only reveals how to stop. This, I know after a long walk off a short pier daily, trying to do and seeing no way can I. I need God to take me over and posses me in doing love and mercy to all, including myself as well
Entering Psalm 100:4 and seeing it is done by Son as in John 19:30 with Psalm 103:12
