My precious brothers and sisters, keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for the LORD GOD our HOLY FATHER has said, “I will never fail you nor forsake you.” Hence we can confidently say,
“The LORD is my helper,
I will not be afraid;
what can man do to me?”

Please don't abandon the things of GOD because you are pursuing money.

Money can't buy happiness, but it sure can steal your happiness when you're never content with what you have. The novelty of things wears off quickly and you're off to buy the next thing. Advertisers count on the truth that the flesh is never satisfied. New & improved, better design, new upgrade, bigger & better, more modern, new enhanced features, blah, blah, blah!

Yes Ma'am. You are right.
Praise GOD.

Such is currently most visible in the smartphone market. Smartphones are the current status symbols in many neighborhoods. If you don't have the latest iPhone (whatever number, plus "S" for "slim") or the latest Galaxy whatever, you are so behind the times people will actually pity you. I mean literally, they will come over all commiserating for your woeful lack of ability to stay up to date with your personal tech.

I was telling someone today that I don't believe God will bless you with bigger and better things if you won't be content/thankful for the things he's already given you.

My thoughts exactly........

and then, that makes me thankful, and when I'm thankful, I'm content. :)

The happiest of people are oftentimes the poorest among us.
I respectfully disagree. Anyone who has been in poverty knows it is highly stressful. The wise Solomon said he would be neither poor nor rich. Poverty is no joke, and very unhappy.

I may be mistaken, but I don't think she was referring to poverty as much as someone who just doesn't have a lot of worldly goods.

Contentment definitely has to come from within because outside circumstances don't seem to change the condition.

There is a distinction between choosing to live a minimalist lifestyle and not having the means to buy the things you want or need. People with little money have difficult lives.

I shall laugh anyways!!! LOL!!!:D

You seem slightly hysterical. Perhaps an unpleasant person has just set you free to roam the wilds unburdened. I am hearing strains of “Born Free” in my head.

I've been both poor & rich. One thing's for sure, you ain't taking stuff with you when you leave this earth. Loving relationships matter more than anything in this life.

The things I'm most grateful for: 1. All my kids have spouses who love them, 2. My kids & my grandchildren know I love them and they love me, 3. my sister & I love each other dearly & we're prayer partners, 4. God is my wonderful loving Father.

That's great and lovely. I thank GOD for you Ma'am. Glory to GOD our HOLY FATHER forever and ever. Amen!
