I would like to make contact with other parents who have lost an adult child to substance abuse. If you have experienced this please leave me a message either here or privately. I lost my adult daughter(25 years old) 67 days ago on 2/7. I am devastated and so is her sister, my 27 year old. Life will never be the same. I'm not looking for advice. Unless you have walked in these shoes or have compassion to offer please stay quiet and pray. Thank you.

Oh, Sunset, I am so sorry for your loss. Yes I lost mine Jan 27, '07.
The pain at times still arises. I am hoping we can talk and I pray
I can help by praying for you. If You feel comfortable with me, I
would prefer sharing my daughters story in a private message.
However you may find someone else you prefer to share with.

Briefly, I can tell you my daughter died from lethal amount of
alcohol and left in a vehicle and died from hypothermia. She was
45. There is so much to the story.. and I just want to give you an
idea I do know the pain and agony of losing our adult child.

When I tried to go to grief groups on Facebook, it appeared
to be more younger children and I never found a place I fit in.
God bless you and I pray for you as you have to walk this walk.
Just know the Lord will answer your every need. He does give
us one another to love and minister to. J-Kay

Dear one,

Thank you so much for writing. I am going to try to figure out how to send you a personal private message.

I can't imagine how it is to loose a child. It must be heartbreaking. I'm so sorry to hear that.
I will pray for you and your other daughter. May God bless you both in this hard time of your life. I'm sending lots of love and my prayer-your way.

Sunset, please forgive me for leaving you. I was going
through a really bad time. I am finally getting over the
shingle pain. It is not as intense. They made my nerves
so bad I could not think straight. I have thought of you,
and wondered how you are. I came back in here today
and signed back in. I hope you are around somewhere.
I have prayed for you and my heart has been with you,
even though you did not know it. God bless you and hope
to see you around ~ In Christ ~ J-Kay
