I use the NIV study bible becaues it seems to be easier to understand. I just recently discovered that some of the verses are left out in the NIV study bible. I compared it to the King James and all the verses in the King James bible are there. I am now very confused on which is the right bible to use. The King James is harder for me to understand. I need some advice and opinions about this. I want to make sure when i read Gods word nothing is missing from it. Thanks

I have been looking at the missing verses too, and some are completly gone, many have just changed the words. I am also interested to see what others think of the differences. It is so much easier to understand the NIV, I agree with you there. When I discovered the differences, I immediatly thought of the end of Revelations - if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. this is Rev 22:19 from the NKJV.

Did you ever even consider the possibility that the King James Version

added verses or words that were not in the original Greek words of the

Bible? How do you know whether or not that is so? Maybe the NIV

Bible left out words that should not be in the Bible. Scribal additions.

I don't know what the case is. I still believe it is an open question

which Greek NT is the correct, original text. What there exist are

several thousand varying Greek NT texts. I generally believe, however,

that the best, most accurate texts are the Byzantine text types that

are behind the King James Version Bible, either the Majority Text

form or the Textus Receptus.

See: Sturz, Harry A. (1984). The Byzantine Text-Type and New

Testament Textual Criticism. Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson

Publishers.

Also see: Pickering, Wilbur N. (1980). The Identity of the New

Testament Text. Revised Edition. Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson

Publishers.

the NIV leaves out some verses or relegates them to the footnotes because those verses are not in the best hebrew and greek manuscripts...some of them can be pretty conclusively shown to have been later additions...

the king james version is a pretty good translation but it was translated from the textus receptus which was based on a very small number of manuscripts...

No translation from one language to another is perfect. While the truth of God’s word may still shine through in some translations, it may not in others. Many older translations may have minor imperfections but so long as those translation errors do not change the message they can still be viable translations. Some translations actually pervert the truth of the Scriptures and those should be avoided.
It would be in our best interest to study the different translations and determine how they came into existence and which are correct and which are in error.

2Ti 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

People can debate about different Bible verses, but we know the theme of the Bible, and it's main purpose, and key doctrines,or we should know, which you can see the theme and important doctrines of the KJV that are in many different scriptures to back each other up.

I use the KJV only because other versions not only leave out verses but chang the wording to mean an entirly different view, such as changing the little word "OF" to "IN" in Gal 2:16 making it read that our faith is what justifies us and not Christ's faith. When the translators belief is that man has to do something to gain eternal salvation, they just change the wording to fit their belief.

It may be easier for you to understand but they are trying to make you believe a false doctrine other that Christ's doctrine.

The KJV teaches Christ's doctrine, the others don't.

buy them all see what you like.If you have questions compare the scriptures.BibleGateway.com: A searchable online Bible in over 100 versions and 50 languages. this link My grandfather died in his late 90s.He said you can find the truth from any bible.I believe him.God gives us his spirit, you will probly get a feeling something wrong if the verse is changed or wrong.

Love a friend in God
Whats the benefit of studying from a version that you know is wrong? Stick to the KJV.

NASB is the one to use. It is considered to be just as or even more so correct in translation. It has none of the ancient English, has ALL of the verses and is very easy to understand....at least from the historical point of view. The spiritual point of view? That's up to Holy Spirit!!

I use the New King James Version when I'm reading because I like its cross references to scriptures for certain verses and lack of men's commentary. just similar Bible verses. Plus it gives references to things that are changed from the traditional KJV so you can kind figure it out.

but have the King James Version downloaded to my MP3 player\

here's an example of the notes:

Revelation 19

1 After these things I heard[a] a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!

Revelation 19:1 NU-Text and M-Text add something like.
Revelation 19:1 NU-Text and M-Text omit the Lord.

compare with:

Revelation 19
King James Version (KJV)
1And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

Revelation 19
New International Version (NIV)
1 After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting:
“Hallelujah!
Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,

it depends of on the source text that is used to translate why you get different versions of certain verses.

the NKJV tells you which ones they use for which verses. which i like
