I just recently got out of a very serious christian relationship. I feel like when Christians date it is always a little more intense because in most cases the end goal is Marriage. Basically my boyfriend flew me 1600 miles away from home to meet his parents and then dumped me. My heart is hurting so badly right now. I could really use some advice on how you guys got over someone? Especially someone you thought you would be together with? I am having a hard time figuring out how to function and have not been eating, definitely am not coping well. So any advice or prayer would be helpful! Thank you! :)

Well, I don't know the whole story, but it doesn't sound like he was keeping your feelings in mind when he broke up with you. Perhaps God was just sparing you from an even more painful marriage? It's much better to be alone than to be with the wrong person, at least in my opinion. It could be a blessing in disguise.

Well, if he is this inconsiderate now, imagine what a pickle you would have been if you had married him.

I know that doesn't change how you feel. I am sure part of you still loves him very much. Just remember that you deserve to be treated better than that.

It's been over a year for me, and I still haven't figured it out! This isn't to say you'll be in the same boat as me a year from now. My advice is to live for today by learning from yesterday. After all, wisdom doesn't come from age; it comes from the experiences you're dealt, and what you choose to take away from them.

"For we glory in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope."

For me, I never got "over" my former boyfriend until I found something else to occupy my time and absolutely surrendered the whole situation to God. I spent a lot of time in prayer. And every time I thought of him I would pray for him even if I didn't feel like it.
I don't know that there's really much of a secret to getting over someone other than giving it to God and allowing time for His healing.
I know that it's hard but you have a great love and support system here. Ih

Oops. My baby hit enter before I was finished.

Anyways. You have people here who will pray with you for sure.
God bless!

Theres no secret to getting over someone. Remember though this pain is temporary. Its gonna suck for awhile, some days will be worse than others, but you will get past this. Like catlynn said occupy yourself with something else.
