Can God’s law save you?
John Blanchard

‘God’s law is summed up in the Ten Commandments, which form such a perfect basis for man’s religious and social life. A mayor of a city in America, speaking about the social and moral problems: He quoted and said: “There are more than 2,000,000 laws on the statute books. But none of these would be needed if the Ten Commandments were observed!”

But notice that the Ten Commandments are laid down, not in the first chapter of the Bible, but much later in the book of Exodus 20: 3-17. In other words, God’s law is not responsible for man’s SIN, but neither can it remedy it! Though that was not the purpose for which it was given.

The Bible reveals a number of purpose for which the law was given – to reveal something of God’s nature and will, to promote the health and welfare of the human race, and to give guidelines for God’s people in their daily living. But supremely the law was given to reveal the reality and nature of human SIN.

In the old testament, there was do what you want, hundreds of wives, etc. An eye for an eye. This all changed with the Victory of Christ's New Testament, and commandment to "a new command I give you to love one another." The laws are nothing to compare to the Wisdom of the HOly Spirit indwelling within us. The New testament says, that the lessons of the past are for our instruction. It dosn't say to continue in the law, for the letter of the law, killeth, it is religion, and wars agaisnt the spirit of man, to continue, in his fleshy desires, ways, and to put himself first, which the Lord speaks agaisnt of saying, "To crucify the flesh, "for I am crucified with Christ, neverthe less I live, and yet not I but Christ liveth within me. :) A man was on his way to church and got into a dispute with someone, he told that man, that he will never forgive him, and now he has no more time to talk but he needs to go to church. Hypocrite, Jesus says, you brood of vipers. If you follow the law, and not the teachings of Christ, which are Love, and the fruits of the Holy spirit, then you are in a dangerous place called a deep darkness called a "religious mindset." To have the mind of Christ is live and peace, but the carnal mind is death." bible verse.
