Can you love instruction, correction and ken?
• “Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge; but he who hates correction is like a brute animal.” (Pro 12:1).
Those who execrate instruction and correction will reap poverty and shame:
• “Poverty and shame shall be to him who refuses instruction, but he who listens to correction shall be honored.” (Pv 13:18).
I know that it is very difficult to acquiesce to the authorities. Nevertheless, see the promise below:
• “The ear that hears the reproof of life shall remain among the wise. He who refuses instruction despises his own soul, but he who hears reproof gets understanding.” (Pro 15:31,32)
If, in particular, the order comes from Jesus and His word, it doesn’t accede can be fatal:
• “Whoever despises the Word shall be destroyed, but he who fears the commandment shall be rewarded.” (Pro 13:13)
The author of Hebrews is clear:
• “See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape, those who refused him that spoke on earth, much more we shall not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from Heaven,” (Heb 12:25).
So, even when Jesus’ word for us is something very hard to hear, the best option is to hark and defer:
• “Give to a wise one, and he will be still wiser; teach a just one, and he will increase in learning.” (Pro 9:9).
• “As a ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon a hearing ear.” (Pro 25:12).
So much so that the psalmist prayed:
• “Let the righteous strike me; it shall be a kindness; and let him correct me, it is oil on my head, let not my head refuse it; for still my prayer also shall be against their wickedness.” (Psa 141:5).
Therefore, have a good week giving thanks to the Creator for all rebuke, instruction, correction, even when delectate to Him use brutish people to scathe us.
