Your right is does affect the family, but if a person did a crime bad enough would you want that person walking around the streets again, or killing inmating and putting officers at risk?

The idea of being supportive of the death penalty because of prison costs is ridiculous.

This is because if we really wanted to save money in the prison-system, we'd stop sending non-violent criminals, such as those arrested for minor drug crimes, to jail for years and years.

Yes but that still puts officers and other people in the jail at risk
that's what they sign up for just like the people who inlist in the army.
