You make a good point about trying to find a solution. I just don't see the system normally caring to consult God's Word for His solutions and His justice system. The world goes after what generates the most money and the most illicit power over others. The love of money is the root of all evil.
You mentioned taking away the driver's license as an incentive. I doubt if the teenager handed a joint is thinking of long term consequences for giving into that temptation. All that achieved when driver's licenses were required for travel was to strongly violate God's rights given to every human to travel. It even violates His mandate to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." That's a most vile abomination that 99.9% of humanity has accepted without question. I argue that two wrongs don't = right.
The wicked devil of a state doesn't have any business taking my DNA under the pretense of moral authority so they can decide whether or not we should have the ability to travel to preach God's Holy Word.
If there's anyone on this forum who is justified in saying go after the drug addicts, it's me. Wherever I lived, in rural and urban middle class neighborhoods, I've had my house broken into by drug abusing dirt bags. I caught the last one breaking into my home, but showed him mercy and didn't send him to hell defending myself. I showed up at his sentencing to give him a talking to.
I don't want him coming back to break into my house to kill me and take what I have to a pawn shop for drug money.
I've trained people all my life how to defend against the violent scum who harm innocents, so I've studied this issue more than the average bear.
I don't criticize your right to your opinion any more than hold you to a standard to which I don't hold myself. A friend recently did that. The last thing he said to me was," you don't study law, do you?"
He had not so much as read a true law book for as long as I've known him. I read and studied 4 chapters that morning he accused me, so I don't want to be a hypocrite. My response to him was a smile. There will always be drug addicts.

To no fault if there own, helpless sick and injured victims of accidents become the most common addicts in my state.
Per Capita, it has an extremely high rate of fentanyl addiction. That's the most deadly and highly addictive drug up to just recently.
Unknowingly patients are injected with it in hospitals.
This makes them lifetime customers. Just like the pimps inject women with heroine to make the them prostitutes, MDs do likewise to milk all the money from their patients as possible.
If any MD reading this is offended, I am not saying ALL do, but come on Dr clean up your own vocation. At least have integrity to warñ people about this on a public forum.
I've seen plenty of people on fentanyl drips who were in no pain to start with. One was my Mom for crying out loud! She had no idea she was on that crap and when I showed her the bag, insisted to the nurse to take her off it. The nurse debated her and me, so I asked to see the prescribing Dr at Ruby Memorial and at Specialty Care Hospital. Don't go there. They are horrendous prisons.
She was denied nutrition, including food and supplements for no good reason other than that takes away complete control of their victim who would recover from this. Instead they forced the most dangerous drugs and procedures .
To imply that arresting addicts as "cutting the head off the snake" would be the program in place right now. Law Enforcement arrests and throws the addicts into the little cages. The caged animals are fed whatever the big corrupt prison industries give them. They can't call anyone without the exorbitant outrages cost per minute the prison charges. They become slave labor for the states. Their families are broken and children become fatherless/ motherless. They are not allowed to get a decent job when released years later. They often turn to crime as a result.
When I read the Bible, I find two frequent punishments, restitution and capitol punishment. Restitution is where the thief restores the items stolen back to the victim plus additional charges. The other are crimes God considers worthy of death. Since there are those who import/ export from China and other countries deadly poison used on people, guess what God's righteous punishment would be?
We have no place applying the punishment, but there's a gt that steals money from the American population who have demanded that role. If it were altogether just, they would punish them and reward the righteous. That would be the Biblical position.
