I once rented an older house. One day, I discovered that the tap water was rusty and undrinkable. The owner was good and replaced the old, steel pipework. The water was clean again. Our soul is can be seen as a "pipe" or conduit from the spirit to the soul. It is not a perfect example as there is no direct connection from spirit to soul. However, it will help understand how the soul and spirit interact.

The spirit man should be the source of our Christian lives. We receive revelation and leading from God by His Holy Spirit. This is the "Living Water" Jesus spoke about. (John 7:38). We should know that the Holy Spirit did not indwell God's people under the Old Covenant. Only the born again can have this blessing.

Christians should be perfect the moment they are born again, or so some might think. We have Jesus, the Father and the Spirit dwelling within. We have everything The divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). So what is the problem?

We come into the Christian life with all kinds of opinions, attitudes, likes, dislikes, prejudices, confusion and misunderstanding. These things, as it were, colour and contaminate the pure flow of the "living water". Lord Jesus wants to cleanse us from all that hinders the pure flow of the living water. As we see, acknowledge and repent of those things, Lord Jesus will effect the changes that we need.

Satan will endeavor to hinder us. He uses various ways that I won't go into at this time. One thing it is important to note. We are born with certain personality and temperament traits. These are not wrong in themselves. The outgoing personality will likely quiet down a little and the introvert come out of his shell. But we are what we are and that by God's design. Do not compare yourselves to others. God allows colour and flavour of the right kind, otherwise we would all be very boring! God only seeks to set us free to bless us, not to give us a hard time.

Don't become introspective, more a risk for introverts than others. Commit all your ways to Jesus. He loves you enough to die in your place. You can trust Him with your life.

"Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.

Therefore

Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.
I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God."
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 & 2 Corinthians 7:1
