Coming Out of the Christian Closet
A blog about men who are attracted to other men and how those relationships complicate their lives. I have lived in many closets and hope that these stories will be relatable and valuable tools to helping others along their journeys to discovering how faith applies to this part of their life. Most of all I want to encourage men who are struggling with a decision to live an active gay life to consider my stories first before loading up on shots of birthday cake vodka and hitting the gay bar. Whether you are a Christian or not, I believe these entries to be helpful when it comes to healthy relationships and living for long term instead of temporary. I hope that I will receive emails from you in times where you need encouragement or have something heavy on your mind that you would like to talk or pray about.

not to be rude or nothing but homosexuality is considered a sin because GOD created man and women to be together and homosexuality goes against that,as i understand it. i know i'm not as studied up on this perticuler subject but i know for sure the bible says it's a sin and GOD hates sin so i hope and pray that you truly give your life to Christ and get away from the homosexuality, i hope i haven't offended anyone but i had to tell the Truth as the bible says and i understand. GOD BLESS and remember that GOD loves you.

Spacefreak... I don't know if you were able to go and read my blog... but you realize that I do acknowledge that Homosexuality is a sin. Coming Out of the Christian Closet... is a blog about coming out as a Christian to my community of friends gay or straight. I have spent 10 years living actively as a "bisexual/gay" man , but turned away from that because God showed me that He has designed a specific way for me to live, and being gay was not a part of that perfect plan.

I would like to just take a moment though Spacefreak and tell you that I am a bit concerned with your approach to homosexuals. If i deconstructed your post that you wrote above... it basically says this "homosexuality is a sin, and God hates sin"... translation - it sounds like you are saying (and I'm sure you are not) that God hates gays. Which I'm sure you have been taught that you should always approach ministry to others with love. Encouraging them to discover who God is and what he means in their lives is step one. If you jump to a Fire and Brimstone type of statement, those lost people that you are trying to reach are just going to walk away from you. Please please please... I speak from experience, approach this type of witnessing with caution and with LOVE. Too many Christians try to tell gays that they are going to hell... just because you know that they are committing a sin does not mean that you have to point it out to them (I'm sure you have many sins that could be just as easily pointed out to you).. more or less you should just encourage them to attend church, find out more about their faith, and seek God. God will show them what they are doing is wrong through time and the right people.. and I can tell you, starting off with - you are a homosexual and that is a sin... is not going to accomplish much.
I say this with love... and don't mean to discourage your initial regard for the well being of my soul. But I have spent 10 YEARS observing this very thing happen over and over again with no result that glorifies the kingdom of God because it comes from a place of judgement and hate. A dear dear friend of mine took the time to cautiously bring me back to my faith and beliefs the right way. I wish the same for you and other Christians. Glory to God

when i said GOD hates sin, it's just that GOD hates all sin plain and simple. my statement had nothing to do with hating people because GOD loves everyone. all is said was that GOD hates sin that's it there is NO hidden meaning or translation there. there was also NO hate or judging on my part eather,and as far as the part you mentioned about people going to hell, if people reject GOD and his gift of salvation then hell is there destination, Jesus is the only way to heaven.

i am glad to hear that you turned toward GOD and GOD only i hope you continue your walk with GOD

Cool man, sorry for the misunderstanding. I think we are on the same page and agree about everything.

I'm excited to use my blog as a way to reach people who have been through or are going through what took me ten years to understand. Hopefully my message will bring more people to know that salvation is in Jesus. If you come across anyone that you know that might need to be encouraged by my blog or needs advice about this stuff I would love for you to pass on my info.

This is awesome I Pray that God's annoting be upon you and you continue to encourage those through christs who may be struggling in these areas ........Nothing is impossible with God and people need to stop being so judgemental if someone is struggling in this particular area they too can be delivered just as someone who is a murderer or an adulterer what some christians need to realise there is no big sin or small sin God is not a respector of persons .........Sin is sin . The way of a transgressor is hard, so, the struggle is that it is sin, separating them from God. Want to quit struggling then do what the bible says, "Come unto me all you who are labored and heavy laden (with sin) and I will give you rest. That's what he died on the cross for; to forgive and deliver us from sin, so we can't have life and life more abundantly

pray frequently,read your bible, and i will pray for you. also one thing that might help is to set the filter on your computer to block that stuff then set a password that somebody else only knows that will not give it to you.

Most who think they are saved, have never truly repented of thier sins against God, and have never crucified their flesh, I am glad to see some who have come out of sins that lead to death such as homosexuality and porn, etc,,, but many will fall back into these addictions, because thay are still in their carnal mind, and have been told if they fall back into these sins, God understands, just repent again, but this is a lie from the pit! You must repent, stop the sin, and crucify your flesh IN this process of repentance!

1Jn 3:6 Everyone who abides in Him does not sin. Everyone who sins has not seen Him nor known Him.
The word of God is very clear who the children of God are, and who the children of the devil are, in this verse as well as many others that state what a true follower of Christ does.
They abide in Him.

And do not sin! Another words a true convert will first come into the kingdom purged and cleansed that can only come from real repentance and faith, laying aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness first.
Then if the repentance is real and genuine, the act of willful, predetermined, deliberate sin and rebellion has stopped, ceased, no more, put to death, crucified with Christ, never to be brought out again!
You can argue all day and night about what sin is or isn’t, or that all sin is the same cop out, but the bottom line here is the act where the desires meet the will, and rebellious actions against God come into effect!
The scriptures must harmonize together, and they do when you take the whole council of God, which clearly negates the sin every day in thought, word and deed crowd, who was told they are saved by saying the sinners prayer, and that they will continue to sin as true follower of Christ.
1Jn 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
Again the sin dilemma is explained by the word of God, telling you that the ones who are born of God (born again) DO NOT sin willfully against God, for they WILL keep themselves, such as putting on the full armor of God, guarding their heart, filling their mind with the precious truths of God, and avoiding all forms of temptation and evil as commanded.
Now if you consider this being self-righteous, or prideful in any way, then you are receiving this message in your carnal mind that has been clouded by the wolves telling you constantly that sin is inbred into your members, you cannot stop, maybe slow down a bit, but if you could stop fornication, lying, cheating, adulteration, lusting after the things of the world, getting drunk, etc., then you wouldn’t need Jesus!
Again another false straw man excuse for sin, when the word clearly explains those born of God, who came to Him on His terms, DO not sin, and if they choose to do so, then woe to them!
The great mercy of God is there and available to all those who are still in bondage to sin and the lies as I was for most of my adult life and more so when I thought I got saved, but here is the great lie, that satan whisper’s in your ear, telling you, that you can sin (rebel against God) ant not die spiritually!
The great mercy of God also, does not cover the unrepentant sinner, who is struggling with many addictions and sin, He is waiting patiently for now for you to repent, stop sinning, get clear of all wrong doing, then seek His mercy, not think all is well since you said a little prayer, and confessed you are a sinner! God already knows that!
He commands all mankind everywhere to repent, forsake their flesh and worldly passions, and come to Him broken and dead to sin, now alive to Him. Please read Romans Ch. 6, it applies to all professing Christians today; it’s not some foreign provision, but a reality few will adhere to.
Pro 28:13 Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
So do you know God? Or are you playing games with Him by defending sin and then blaming this sin on a false inbred nature your denomination or bible teacher told you to be true!!
Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.

Gal 6:8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

I am new and really need someone that I can talk to about my addiction to drugs and gay sex, I really want to change my social life style, but it's hard.
