Hey everyone. Here's the deal. I have this friend, I've known him for like 8 months. When we met, it was evident that there was something there. We starting talking a lot and hanging out. Eventually the topic of us liking eachother came up. We agreed that we liked eachother, but that we needed to wait on God. Long story short, he changed his mind. He decided that he didn't feel like God wanted us to be together. So now, we are still friends, but our friendship is rocky; it's not the same as it used to be. The thing is, ever since I met him...I have had a really good feeling about us. Deep down I truely believe that God wants us to be together. I believe that sometimes it is possible to miss God-given opportunites. I'm afraid that me and him moved too fast, and ruined the chance of us being together. However, I also believe that sometimes people can mess up God's plan, but that doesn't mean that opportunity is gone; perhaps sometimes it just means it will take longer to get there. I have told this guy all of this, what I thought about it. He still doesn't feel like God is in it. The problem is that I think the world of this boy. & I can't get the vision of me and him together out of my mind. I just feel like we are meant for eachother, and I have never thought that about someone before. The thing is I don't want to hold on to the idea that one day we will be together, because what if I'm wrong? I guess I just don't know what to do. If i should just do my best to let go and move on...or if I should hold on. Opinions?

Welcome to my world -.- This is EXACTLY my situation, except (as is usual with me for some reason) the genders are swapped.

How interesting that whenever you have one side saying "This is from God" and the other side claiming "I don't feel this is from God" The person that
does not "feel" it's going to work out usually wins at the end, which means no relationship is established.
I wonder how many of those "I feel" actually come from God, and how many of those "I feel" are just excuses used as defense weapons to run away from
a relationship. Because if I feel God is not leading me to this relationship, who can argue against me? Isn't it God's plan? don't you dare contradict HIM!!
I wish people would stop relying so much in what they feel and look at things from a biblical perspective. God wants us to grow up, mature in his word, look at the possibilities of a relationship working out or not from a biblical perspective and not just "I feel this or that" How often is the word feeling used in the bible anyways?
If it's evident that God could work something fruitful out of the relationship, then stop saying that you feel this isn't from God and admit that you're simply not
interested in the other person and do not wish to make a sacrifice. But stop using the " I feel this or that from" without real biblical foundation.
I think you need to move on, let him figure out his insecurities, remember him in your prayers every once in a while and let God and time do the rest. But don't locked your mind in him, it'll only bring you pain. And always consider situations like these as possible trials God is bringing to your life to shape you up, be thankful, thought it isn't easy.

I felt that way about a boy, but I'm so glad I didn't pursue him in that way or let him pursue me, although I won't say "he's the one." It was just a very strong feeling I had for him.

In the last year or so, I discovered what was the "voice" of God and what was me.

Sometimes our desires and wants overshadows God's plan, so much so, that after a while, we start to feel like God wanted this for us.

Just be patient and continue to seek the Lord.

God Bless :)

*I posted this in your other twin thread in the other forum

I agree sometimes its easy to believe what we want is also what God wants. I know I'm in that place right now with the guy I'm intersted in, I'm trying to tell the difference right now about me wanting to be with him and actually God wanting us to be together. Its a long process I feel like and takes ALOT of patience on my part, but I have found from past experience I follow what I want and say its what God wants. With my ex toward the end of our relationship it was SOOO true. I mean your right you may have a chance again eventually, this guy is not closed to you for the rest of your life. But there may be reasons you dont see right know which is why you arent in a relationship with him, try not to let it affect your friendship though, cause at the very least you have a good friend.

*sigh* Another girl with the same problem. Why the heck am I so much like a girl?!?!?! I need to get more guy friends...

But yeah, I'm not sure what God wanted exactly. What I DO know is that He was in it, because He without a doubt set us up in the first place. I also know she loves me, unless she lied to me, but I don't think she did. I'm not sure if our situation is entirely God/Satan related, or if it's a personal problem she needs to work out, or a mix of both... So I'm going to have to wait it out and see. In the meantime, I'm single and will have to at least be on the lookout for someone, but the standard is SO much higher now =(

Dunno, it's more like sharing a similar experience than advice... For advice, I have no clue, since I'm stuck in the same situation, and if I had advice, I'd be using it too XD But as far as what I THINK I'm going to do, Imma try to move on and find someone else, just in case she decides to never try "us" again. I'm not sure how that'll work out for me, but it's a start. TC could prolly try the same thing =P

He decided that he didn't feel like God wanted us to be together

Sometimes its best to just take what was said as it is. He didn't want to be with you. And your still hanging on. I'm sorry.

thanks everyone for the advice. It's a rough situation for me, so I appreciate all of the thoughts...

When my ex-girlfriend and I were together we both felt the same way. We even had bible verses to back up that assumption. Eventually during college we grew apart, or more accurately we grew differently. in the end we broke up. I've since realized that we were never meant to be together in the long run. We were however meant to be together at that time. My parents had just split, my father declared himself opposed to everthing he ever believed in the most disgusting way imaginable and my belief in God had dissappeared. At the very most, I believed he didn't care. God that is.

She and I met a few months later. I was a lost soul, rudderless in a hurricane without an engine. On top of that my mom was out of it, and my brother who is a couple years younger had no one "in control" of him because of that. I had to shoulder all the responsibility of husband and father far two young and with none of the benefits. I know that sounds creepy. Anyone who has gone through a divorce will know what I mean. With this crushing burden thoughts of suicide started floating around just to make it end. She became my anchor. She appeared when I needed someone to care about me. On top of that her existance brought me back to God, and then into salvation.

However, things changed. I had an anchor again, and then engine got fixed so I could now steam under my own power as it were. We ended badly and under horrible circumstances and I do regret that, but in the end things worked out for the better.

Trust in God, and trust he has a plan for both of you. Even if its not what you planned. You know what they say: The best laid plans of mice and men are as dust to God!!!!
