If we are hungry enough, we will get something to eat. And if we can’t eat before we leave home, we will go to a drive-thru at a fast-food restaurant. Or we will call a place that delivers food to bring us something to eat.

If we are hungry enough for God, we will find a way into His presence. We should be so hungry for the presence of God that we absolutely will not go out of our house or tackle any kind of project until we have spent some time with Him…

God is terrifying.


My experience with the presence of God is that He is very VERY holy and I am incredibly not. I did not belong. I felt more terrified than I have ever felt in my life. It makes a fear of heights or of bears or of the law seem trivial.

I do not grasp the concept of most people's warm and fuzzy about being in the presence of God. If I had to do it all over again. I would fast and pray for at least a week before I approached wanting to be there. I would not choose it for myself but, I realize it is an inevitability.

Its one thing to want to feel the Joy of the Holy Spirit within you. I understand the the Love of God and how much I need that. But as I am I cannot bear His perfection or His standard. I need Jesus, without Him I am a wreck and ALL is lost.


When the bible speaks of the Day of the Lord, read carefully.
