The world we live in today is full of things that are not of God. Some are evil and some are just plain nasty. Those if us who are Saved have a better Hope than most of the worlds people. When we focus on things is this life that are going in around us , we sometimes wonder if we will ever see anything better. If we focus on the things we see we tend to be fearful. So we need to learn to focus the eternal promises that we cannot see, which live on and on.

16 So we have no reason to despair. Despite the fact that our outer humanity is falling apart and decaying, our inner humanity is breathing in new life every day.
17 You see, the short-lived pains of this life are creating for us an eternal glory that does not compare to anything we know here.
18 So we do not set our sights on the things we can see with our eyes. All of that is fleeting; it will eventually fade away. Instead, we focus on the things we cannot see, which live on and on.

2 Corinthians 4: 16-18 The Voice Bible.

Dennis, the thing is to let the word of God guide our hearts. We have the whole world praying for God's help, whether to heal or give them wisdom. Unless we are willing to search as searching for an hidden treasure. we won't find life with God. If we don't find life, we are "evil", in God's eyes. We can be a good moral person, but if we don't know God we are "evil" in God's eyes, after our father the devil. We can go to Church everyday and we can pray and do "all" that is good in the sight of man. But if we haven't found the Church that Christ died for, One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, we are none of his. He died to give us his blood of the new Testament (written in what we call the Bible). When Christ comes back the second time it is to take vengeance on them that don't know God. 2 Thessalonians 1:7,8 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, [SUP]3 [/SUP]as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, [SUP]4 [/SUP]by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

I just wanted to share this because it lines up with exactly what you said, a study on these scriptures is highly beneficial to anyone who would take the time. Have an awesome day!

It's not so much about what is going on around us as what we're letting inside us! We cant let the world get in us. Trials are tests, what we say and do under pressure reveals what is inside our heart and sin is a manifestation of what is inside our heart. I believe that's why God leads us through these things because He cares more about what is inside the heart rather than the mask we try and put on. (Men look at the outward appearance-this includes the face/mask we try and put on but the Lord looks at the heart) He deals with us about the things inside us by putting us through trials (through the flame) to purify us.

We don't need to be fearful of things, we need not fear trials or persecution. As long as we place our trust in the Lord the world wont get "in us", the Lord gives us strength, our hope is in Him, He is our joy...we as followers of Christ don't need to be afraid because even when we're cast into the furnace, we'll find the forth man in there and the smell of smoke will not be on us. (Daniel 3)
