Outward faith-- Aiiii!!, green, that 'works' word!!!, Don't go there. That isn't important to display as a human being who has accepted Christ?

Faith without works is dead, most know this verse, there is a deadly connection to our eternal life, with God everlasting or with punishment everlasting, no?

What exactly does 'dead' mean?

What exactly does 'dead' mean?

1. Dead means no life, or lifeless
2. Physically. Dead means that the soul and body are separated and can not interact with each other
3. Spiritual death means we are separated from God and can not interact with each other.
4. Life means there is interaction. A body which is alive can function and do things, whereas a dead body can do nothing.
5. Faith: A dead faith means it has no life, thus is powerless to do anything, It will not work, and it will not result in life. whereas a true, or live faith has power. Not only does it saved, But it has power to work.

Dead in this case (James 2), I think it basically means the seed (Word of God) spoken of in Luke 8:4-15, which did not land on good ground (heart). For we read in Luke 8:8,15 of the one good ground as compared to the 3 bad ones. Peter also speaks of this in I Peter 1:18-23. For if we are born again by incorruptible seed we are not dead.
