My proof that it was the Holy Spirit who brought me into salvation was because I was sitting in a heavy metal rock band session, offered drugs, and instantly the Lord God touched my heart. It was then only and not before the session. I went in there ready. Who wouldn't want to jam and party.

I did nothing and couldn't think of anything. I turned down the smoking drug and said I'm coming to Jesus tonight. They were so shocked they said we will to. We walked out the door. I felt good. I after said the sinners prayer and so did they. I felt something----a peace and a removal of junk thoughts. As a 3 pack of day cigs. threw away a new pack and never smoked for 45 years now.

We all quit the rock music and later when found a church was bass player of that holy , clean, music. We would have called that music square in our rebel days. Now we loved it.

I hope that by now you see my point----it is all the work of the Holy Spirit. He was with me not in me yet. No matter where I would read the bible it was always saying Holy Spirit or spiritual life.

My passage that really shook my life was in Rom.8:6 to be carnal minded is death and to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

2Cor. 3:6 shows us only the Spirit of God gives life but the letter of the word only kills. That is why we have to learn principles of life in the word. We have to get faith in our hearts to confess and claim God's promises---over 7,500 of them. 2Pet. 1:4 they are given to us to claim by faith. If we are not receiving them we know that the Spirit is not working in us.

this should be in the Testimonial section.

i like your story.

this is what Jesus does for us.

I was a porn addict,
Prayed and repented.
in 1 second, I was healed man. No temptation

before I was saved, I never listened to christian music nor radio stations.
Now I only use radio stations to listen to christian musics.

My life has completely changed.

so did yours...wait and see:)
you will start to see and encounter many different things and even do things you ought not you could do.

I am just so glad man. Did you know why Jesus came to you?
because you are the band leader, your boys/band follow you.
As you can see...when you decided to turn your life, they followed you!

Imagine if Jesus only came to one of your band, you nor the rest would not follow him.

I like this verse:

2 Cor 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

*
Does the "LETTER" of the WORD mean the "literal meaning?" If so, this may be given an example:

Joh 2:19 Jesus ...said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Joh 2:20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

*
What is the result? It is GREAT DECEPTION!
Mat_27:40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

* What if it is the SPIRIT of the WORD? Great message it is the TRUTH!

Joh 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
Joh 2:22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

The message:

To simply take the "letter" of the WORD, this is tantamount to "not even benefiting" from the WORD.
But to take the "spiritual" meaning of the WORD, this is the "intended message" of God.

It really is the letter of the law that kills, not the word, because the written word just might contain the Gospel.
Appreciate your testimony.

2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

From the verse, it seems we get the following significance:

1. The "letter" or the literal meaning of the WORD of God is simply how the Holy Bible is written in the respective language or dialect of the READERS. Therefore, they have their own interpretations leading to the different identifications of "Jesus Christ". And so, we hear different "ways of salvation" preached by different sects and denominations.

2. Very clear, therefore, the "letter" of the WORD does not yet represent the "intended message" of God.

3. Very clear the "letter" or literal meaning/message is what God condemns as "human wisdom" that we read in the following:

1 Corinthians 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. :20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? :21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God...

What is the lesson?

God simply wants us to humble ourselves for HIM to reveal His "intended message" as in:

John 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Joh 2:20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

Result of the "letter"

Mathew_27:40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

"of the spirit" or intended message of our Lord

John 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
John 2:22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
